AMD Launches 40W, Six-Core Opterons

AMD over the weekend added to its Opteron line with a new series boasting six-cores and a low 40W ACP. That’s the same power rating as AMD’s quad-core chips released in April of this year.

    • I've built one AMD machine that was comparable to my Intel machine (except the price, which was much lower). The bus speeds on AMD compatible motherboards dramitcally reduced the performance of the machine. Until their bus speeds catch up this is pointless.
