EMI Sales went sky high when they dropped DRM. DRM does not work and just limits the end user

Record labels are failing unfortunately for them, but for the artist the labels failing is a great thing, especially with technology providing freedom.

I wish all these people would just stop viewing music as a commodity. I hope that art wins out over capitalism in the end.

Unfortunately, art seems to always been assimilated into capitalistic flurry. Seen examples in many popular art and music genres, ex: graffiti, punk, movie sequels... the list goes on :-/

I was commenting on the notion that somehow capitalism has limited/restricted art.
Madonna - over 200 million album sales
MJ - over 400 million album sales
Elvis - over 600 million album sales
Those artists seem like they were greatly limited by capitialism. Of course, today, 90% of those albums would have been downloaded for free. How liberating that would have been for those artists had they recorded in the present day.
The new Beatles Rock Band game is selling between $139.99-$249.99. Capitalism further restricting artists. It should be available for free! - 2 years ago
