The new report gets more specific than previous rumors by breaking down which Taiwanese component manufacturers will handle production. They include current iPhone screen-maker, Wintek (display), and Dynapack (up to 300,000 batteries a month).
The supply chain is expected to start delivery to Apple in December.
Playing hypotheticals: Are you excited enough for a tablet that you'd pay that much money for no keyboard?

I wouldn't consider myself a fanboy of windows, but its the only serious option for gaming, CAD, and right clicking. :)

i right click all day long with my two button mouse and I have a mac. and really the whole who's better thing is so played out people...get over it....windows runs the world, has more games, spyware and virii, and those who know better and can afford macs, have them...it's like the mercedes or BMW of the computer world. if everyone could afford a bmw it wouldn't be a bmw anymore...

That would be true if mercedes and bmw were typically slower. It's a preference thing, not a "know better" thing. And its not necessarily a cost thing either.

eh, I disagree...an old mac is a slow mac, a new mac, a fast mac....you wouldn't buy an old used bmw and expect to rule the autobahn....why even bother with that argument?
new premium macs have dual quad core xeon processors....the newest iteration of their software starts to use this, the next few versions will really fully use it....I doubt any PC running vista can outrun a mac with OS 10.6, and doing the same things with similar hardware configs.....microsoft just doesn't cut it....now if you told me you were a linux user...well, that'd be different.
don't be bitter you can't afford a new mac or BMW...I can't either! I have an upgraded old school system I got for free and I love it, not caring a whit if it is not the fastest computer on the block, because the OS is SUPERIOR. I'd rather suffer with a little slow, than a lot of stupid....lol - 3 years ago

I use ubuntu as well as sabayon good sir, but please keep this on topic. I can tell you obviosly dont know much about hardware nor software, so do some reasearch before you make outragous claims like that. It is a preferabce of what you use. And just because someone uses linux, doesnt mean much.

hehe, i don't know how you would qualify "know much about hardware or software" but I know enough. in any case, I have done plenty of research. I agree completely that it is a preference. but to your original statement RE: right clicking, CAD, and gaming: Right clicking is mostly dependent on what sort of mouse you use...sure, apple is still too haughty to release a multi button mouse with their hardware, but plenty of multi button/wheel mice work perfectly on my mac. so that one goes by the wayside. as far as CAD and gaming, I can't argue with that in the slightest. it's no contest! mac still holds too small of a market share to be taken seriously by most of the biggest software companies...why write a multi-thousand dollar CAD package for a user base of 100-1000 mac CAD users when you have 1,000,000 PC CAD users....of course the numbers are completely made up, but you know what I mean. Speed wise is another story.
Read this article http://arstechnica.com/apple/reviews/2009/08/mac-os-x-10-6.ars
I imagine with another iteration or two of these new frameworks apple will have developers on the 64bit bus....I'd wager, you might change your attitude when you see a quad- quadcore xeon system doing realtime rendering....and playing a bluray feed, and browsing content heavy web sites, and crunching a database simultaneously.....with full system responsiveness....it's coming, and it will be wicked...
and yes, I have a windows system at home...and a mac at work....why? because it was 99$ for a dual xeon server and it plays hulu better. silly? you bet! when I can afford a mac pro fully loaded, I would get rid of that thing in a hurry....but for now, it's just lovely. - 3 years ago
