Through Stills of Life... The Annenberg Space for Photography

scenedrop
Los Angeles has long been home to a vibrant museum culture, and its newest flagship for the those wishing to wet their intellectual whistle is no exception. The Annenberg Space for Photography offers a wholly unique experience which goes far beyond simply looking at art hanging on walls. Rare is it to find a place that's simultaneously challenging, welcoming and inspiring such as this. It's where the artist in all of us finds their soul mate. Who knew it would be the museum itself?

    • I had no idea this place even existed prior to seeing this (but I'm glad it does!). You not only conveyed images of the fantastic photography inside, but really highlighted the space's architectural beauty as a whole. Nice.

    • Beautifully done piece. Great use of stills, which mesh together well with the really fluid camera work.

A really artistic video that makes me really want to visit this place.

Narrator has a great voice too.

    • The Rick Shaw clip is actually part of their digital presentations. Its to show you what Patricia is talking about just prior to that, and to show a sample of what you would see playing on the screens. Admittedly its music is more ominous than the rest of the piece, but if you take it as an independent clip being shown within the pod, I think it still works.

    • The Rick Shaw cut away at 04:00:00 was a little jarring and unnecessary. Clearly, this transition might be used if the mini-doc were longer. The films tempo did call for a change at around this time, but the shift was too drastic, really. Other than that, Very concise and intriguing for anyone at any level of interest in photography!

      Hi Callan,
I thought the soothing voice was the best part. The whole piece was done to perfection however. The music in the background was also very soothing and beautiful.
Current will be the next NBC with work like this!
