Everything you HAVE TO KNOW about dangerous genetically modified foods

JanforGore
View Jeffrey Smith’s powerhouse keynote to an audience of more than 1,000 and experience why so many say he is one of the best presenters they have ever seen.

What is not shown is Jeffrey asking the audience at the beginning, "Please rate yourself from 1-100 how vigilant you are at avoiding genetically modified (GM) brands." Using a show of hands by category, most audiences fall in the least vigilant range (1-20). But by the end of Jeffrey's fast-paced multimedia presentation—EVERYTHING changes.

After the audience hears about:

1. The thousands of sick, sterile, and dead livestock, accompanied by unambiguous photos of severely damaged organs in animals fed GM food (e.g. testicles actually changed color),

2. How eating a GM corn chip might transform our intestinal bacteria into living pesticide factories (it's true), and

3. The heavy handed ways the industry covers up GM food dangers,

Jeffrey asks the final question, "Now rate yourself how vigilant you will be NEXT week at avoiding GMOs." The audience is transformed—ready to change lifelong eating habits on-the-spot.

    • And don't forget the Kanye West/ or who may or may not be gay stories. I thought the intent of this station was to be groundbreaking in allowing members to be the journalists in bringing information we won't get from the MSM. I guess I was wrong. But thanks for reading the information and please do pass it on to all you can.

I'm going to be starting a personal campaign on my own to print the flyers from the Responsible Technology site and start plastering them on bus stops and car windshields and handing them out. As Jeffrey Smith stated, people WANT this information. Anyone I have ever talked to about this was absolutely open to this information because contrary to what some may believe many people really do want to care about their health. Processed foods have been shoved down our throats for so long that people are either addicted to them now, or it is just rote to buy them, or they don't have access to any other foods, or organic is out of reach in price. We have had our food freedom taken from us without our consent and through deceptive practices. We are what we eat and I think corporations that peddle this crap should be held responsible as well.

    • Jan,

Perhaps Current has become too much like MSM. I thought for sure this would get picked for TV. This site has become so political that important issues like the one you raise are brushed aside for the daily Glenn Beck/teabag/those who disagree are racist nonsense.

    • Jan you have made an important point! I have observed that some of the stories that are picked for TV do not contain serious news, but rather so-called stories that are soft news which are picked not to truly inform like your post does, but to continue to lull us to sleep. Your posts should all be picked for TV. How are you supposed to inform a majority of people on these important issues if your posts stand no chance of being on TV? I am tired of being fed crap that has been cut and pasted together not to truly inform but to lull us to sleep. we need a truly independent news channel that is not afraid to deseminate information to people instead of following the governments lead on things like the envioment.the government supports GMO's and the corporate farms, monsato is making decisions on food safety and am willing to bet that most americans don't even know what a conflict of interest that is. I wish there were a channel that only reports on important issues like this but the elite will never let that happen, the FCC would never issue a license and am equally sure that those at current who make the decisions are well aware that stories that might cause a drop in corporate profits never see the light of day!

    • Well, my question is, where is the pink "picked for tv" sticker on this entry? Where is the true appreciation to those who come here every day out of dedication and sincerity to a true important cause? Where is the expression of the new journalism that seeks to dessiminate the REAL NEWS out here as opposed to the cut and paste diversionary MSM crap we can see on cable?

Now, don't get me wrong, I truly appreciate the opportunity this site gives me to post this information. However, I see trivial topics being picked for TV many times here, and yet this issue that is potentially changing entire biospheres is relegated to obscurity here. The global implications of GMOs alone rate it as significant and important news that needs to be dessiminated to as many people as possible, particularly young people who will inherit this planet from us.

So while again I appreciate the opportunity to forward this information on my sustainable agriculture group and others, I believe that it is a mistake to leave it at that. A truly independent news channel would have no qualms about giving this information out to as many as they could.

    • Jan,

I really miss "the Daily Jan" when I don't have time to check current. Your postings are great and they help keep me focused on sustaining our small but robust organic farm. Thank you so much!

    • Thanks for all of the responses. They are appreciated. As Mr. Smith stated in the video we hope to see a tipping point on this by the end of this next year. And as he also mentioned, Obama states he will label foods with GMOS...and we are still waiting. Well, we can't wait for him to do that, especially when it more than likely isn't going to happen with the Monsanto tag team of Michael Taylor and Tom Vilsack in the USDA. We have to do it without the government because they just seem to be lying to us again to not lose votes. I'm tired of politicians including Obama saying things they really have no intention of doing while people are feeling the effects of these bought and sold policies. We don't need to wait for them to take action. We have ourselves. That is also how I feel about climate change, and we are seeing firsthand how true it is about that as well.

    • Great post Jan! Am emailing the address of the site to my entire address book! people need to be convinced that GMO's are just plain bad and must be stopped but our government who supports the corporate farms and is pushing this crap on people and the majority think that if the government says something is good for them they don't dispute it! apathy is the real problem in this country!

    • You are quite welcome. I respect Jeffrey Smith very much and thank him for being so dedicated to getting this other inconvenient truth out to the masses. I have been passing out a flyer I wrote up with information about GMOS when I get the chance, and really hope others spread this video around to all they can.

These organisms have woefully inadequate and biased testing and are now out in our environment where the true effects are yet to be felt. The companies spreading these dangerous organisms for profit, Monsanto principle among them, must be held accountable. We must see labelling of foods and a moratorium on anymore of them being planted. They are killing biodiversity, and I know I sound like a broken record, but if you understand the repurcussions environmentally, socially, and healthwise regarding biodiversity and its importance to sustaining life, that cannot be said too many times.

A monoculture world is no world we want to live in, and if there is any way we can prevent that from happening we have to do it. Thanks for your response.

    • They are trying to make farmers dependent upon the GMO crops because the GMO crops will destroy the alternatives by cross pollination.
GMO crops cause autoimmune flares in people who have autoimmune illness. The scientist who did this study in ENgland was fired though scientists from all over the world came to his defense as a careful scientist

      Thanks for posting this video!.
