Xeros Ltd’s new washing machine could change the way you clean clothing. Their prototype system uses nylon beads, less detergent and 90% less water than traditional machines to tumble wash clothes. The machine also eliminates the need for tumble drying. Xeros claims that if all U.S. homes switched to their system, the carbon offset would be the equivalent of removing 5 million cars from roads and would save 1.2 billion tons of water each year.
