UGDB.com: In the first game there was a complex storyline that took place in the present, but it was also very much affected by the past. How is the story going to be told in the sequel?
Sebastien Puel: Assassin’s Creed is Desmond Miles’ story. As such, the events in the present start right where the first game left off. You will still be traveling to the past using the Animus – although some aspects of it will be different: this time around, you’ll be visiting a very different historical time period. You will also find more sequences in the present faster-paced and more action-packed than in the first game.
UGDB: We cannot deny that the end of Assassin's Creed was pretty interesting. But we cannot deny that it wasn’t that satisfying. We are waiting for a lot of things to be explained in Assassin's Creed 2. Should we expect more questions than answers in the sequel or you’re going to unravel a lot of the mysteries of the first game as well?
SP: We’ll be providing a lot of answers to questions raised in AC1, though we’ll be posing plenty of new ones along the way… The “mysteries” will be all the more interesting as the duality between the two characters – past and present – remains ever critical to our story.
