This apple isn't just sour--it's rotten. Maybe apple should focus improving on the quality of its iPhones and less on a logo that really doesn't mirror its own.

Wow...I'm surprised Apple hasn't tried to sue Applebees! Their logo actually looks like Apple's apple! It's a food store for crying out loud. Apple must be desperate or something.

The truth of the matter is, Apple wants to use that logo. They're jealous cause they didn't think of it first. So, they're gonna try to steal that one.

What a slim resemblance between the two logos! Even if Woolworths eventually sells electronics, they're not calling anything "apple."

I think this is an asia thing. They aren't expecting to win. I'm sure they don't care about Wolworth's The people I suspect they do care about make things like this phone.
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/07/24/iorganes-kirfy-f9-soon-available-but-ou...
another example of many.
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/06/20/keepin-it-real-fake-part-ccxviii-iphome...If Apple wants to attack Chinese companies like this they have to be consistent and do it everywhere. What I suspect they are hoping for is a decision that they have no rights not because of the look but because Woolworths does not sell phones. This would be a net gain for them.

Sorry Apple, that's a bit of a stretch. You don't hold a monopoly over fruit iconography.
But if you're looking for some extra money, just come to East Asia. I've lost count of how many times I've come across "Apple iPhones" here.

We used to have a Woolworth's in our city long ago. I was then called "the 5 and dime" because it was an old fashioned discount department store chain dating back to the 1800s. And don't I know it. I found an Indian head penny stuck between the glass product shield that some old timer must have fumbled with and dropped long, long, looong before I got there in the late 1950s. Didn't see any computers there for sale. But you wouldn't have recognized them then anyway because they were'nt consumer products. Only the military had them, and even those had vacuum tubes in them. Transistors didn't evolve until the 1960s, integrated circuits until the 70s. Probably wasn't until the 80s that the first chips were invented. I still see 1980s movies with the first primitive desktop computers in them but compared to my Dell 530 dual core widetower, they looked like stone knives & bearskins from the Jurasic age.
