"Scary" climate message from past

Carbon dioxide "levels similar to those now commonly regarded as adequate to tackle climate change were associated with sea levels 25-40m (80-130 ft) higher than today." This will be great for rubber raft manufacturers but less-great for the rest of us.

    • I live in Astoria, Oregon, less than 200 feet from the Columbia River, and the river enters the ocean about 5 miles west of my place. The daily tides affect the river levels and currents. If the sea were to rise 5 feet, the ground floor of my apartment house would be under water. Millions worldwide are in similar situations.

    • I can't wait until the ocean levels rise. That will surely scare the hell out of people and then maybe they will wake up and make some drastic changes in the way they operate.

Our family will literally have ocean front property where we have our family home in Florence, Oregon. Of course we will need a boat to get there from the bigger cities further inland.

I wonder if the ocean rises 100 feet if the Willamette valley would become innundated.

Another benefit to the ocean levels rising would be the record number of jobs there would be for cartographers who would have to get busy making new maps of the world.

I think a good investment would be made in homes that could float.
