I am not sure if this invention will deplete our natural resources but I love its fantastic potential and the general direction towards a sci-fi future.

lookatmypix said, "I love its fantastic potential and the general direction towards a sci-fi future." I do too! I think we are moving that direction as fast as some of man-kind can go. I voted this up! Cool.

Its a hoax. If I was the inventor of this thing and it really worked I would shoot the video in a manner where I could see this thing floating off the floor. I would lay down beneath it, crawl under it etc. As it stands now, I suspect this contraption is propped up from the bottom in some manner. Next.

My impression from related articles is that it is true China is working on something related, and Britain is indeed taking it seriously enough to look into it... and so although the video is, I would agree, less than convincing, I am compelled to consider the report (implicating 'something worth investigating') is substantive.
So I would think to simply blow it off as a complete hoax might be a bit premature.

I'm seeing a metal frame, and a big metal bar at least an inch thick at the very bottom of the device that is larger than the frame, a big copper coil, and at least four cables. Occam's razor says magnetic levitation.

there are already numerous antigravity machines working in the world...some you know as ufo's...prototypes date back as far as the 30's...lets hope this technology is being researched and worked upon by other budding inventors..to contribute to the planets energy recycling system..

The science is amazing but I don't think I would want a bunch of things flying around everywhere.

I think this is great !! If this actually works as advertised it will change a lot of things. Being able to jet around strikes me as the last. But how about construction? All that heavy equipment required for lifting? Probably a BUNCH of other applications as well that won't require all kinds of technology we don't have yet.
Here's a question: If you nulify the weight of something and lift it up, does it still require the same amount of power to move it left and right? What I do know if that stopping the object, once you get it moving, has to deal with the entire actual weight of it.
I'd also be curious to know, if you lifted a heavy object up on this thing, what would happen if you walked underneath it?

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

No, they almost always remain crackpots. Only very rarely do they turn out to be right. In fact most people thought to be geniuses turn out to be merely crackpots in the end.

I meant the revolutionary, out-of-the-ordinary, crackpots. Not the crazy or demented crackpots haha. But yeah you both bring up good points.
