Idea: Why don't we have a mosh of web services that would allow volunteers to get paid if they need it.

We would all prosper if we had a service that would allow your typical volunteer to get paid per hour if they needed it. Perhaps this could be funded by donations and grants but also by people who think they are getting paid too much. (ie a Bank CEO wink wink.)
For example I have volunteered my services over the years at my children's school but it was tough for me with other obligations. But if I could have earned minimum wage the schools could have benefited from my business degree and art skills without hiring professionals at full cost.
This is just bubbling up in my mind.
It would be easy to implement this through existing webs such as Idealist and a donation site with modifications. It would need a little startup.
I have to go but am posting this.

I like the idea. Actually has a certain efficiency to it. Collectivist. Thoughtful. "Sharing".
----------er,......sorry,.....but thats a 3strikes. No money to be made short term by investors with "better" investments. I think that makes it a no go. GOD only knows what the social investment would be worth LONG TERM! (---------but MUCH more in total, I would guess ) - 2 years ago

a very interesting concept. i could see it attracting qualified individuals at a lower cost... they get income they need, and schools (as per your example) save money. worth some thought.
