    • I'm running Vista Home Premium on a 2.5 Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 gigs of ram and an ATI Radeon Mobility graphics card and my OS runs flawlessly. I sometimes wonder what kind of performance gains I would get from Windows 7 if I were to switch. It just seems like a Netbook thing to me.

It's not just a netbook OS, you can run it on a wide range of hardware configurations. If you're already running Vista home premium and it works you probably don't need to spend the money to upgrade. Windows 7 is esentially the same as Vista but it is a little easier on system resources and has a few new features, most of which are only in the premium version anyway.
