Has Technology Made Things Better or Worse?

According to 1,504 American adults surveyed over a 5-day period, cellphones have made the world a better place. Tattoos, on the other hand, haven't done a damn thing! Everything else falls indolently in between.

    • I'm almost inclined to thumb down because IPhones and Blackberries are a separate category from "Cellphone" that kinda shit is a big no-no in my book.

      I notice Playstation3 isn't on the list. I guess the people who made the survey just ASSUMED everyone would say PS3 has made everyone's life better.

    • Years ago, back in the 90's. the nobel laurettes (however its spelled) had their 94th gathering. They had a debate, 3 vs 3 nobel prize winners, and David Frost as mediator. N

      Resolved: Has technology bettered mankind or made it worsen. Both side had good points, and it was exciting to see a room full of nobel prize winners as some made comments.

      Of course, they couldn't resolve and neither side won. BUT, the two gentleman in the audience stated:

      1. Over Population is our greatest concern
      2. We live in a world of finite resources.

      With these two statements, I thought long and hard about. so much so, that today it still is at the forefront of why we have all these issues today.

      We have not had a world war, or a plague to put the world back in check.

      It appears that is what is needed since people still can not stop from having more than 2 kids. I know it sounds bad, and awful, and how could I, statements, but fact is, we have too many people on the planet.

      Ur thoughts?

      Ps. my suggestion is, stop having to many kids globally, and no I'm not suggesting abortion.
