I think ipad is going to be great. As someone that has a number of FreeBSD installations I also think that in the seven years apple has been working on the hardware/software, it would be nice for someone in open source to have developed something that is shipping. BTW, thanks apple for taking khtml and giving us Webkit: now I have a workable stable alternative to Firefox on Gnome.

I hope the iBook store allows for development of the ePub enough for people to use the format. Now that people are going to looking at this format as their method of access, it would be nice to have Graphic Novel writers to look at SVG for use in the iBooks.

That is a great question ... I just googled iPod rates and they go as low as 40 for 3 yrs. but the iPad reails for a lot more.
I am guessing $99 a year.

How strong is the iPad screen going to be? If it's anything like the fragile iPhone screen, insurers are going to do well out of this.
