SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL!!! It's not rocket science.

Alright, I heading to the dealer for a test drive, go mach-II in new Toyota, and see just how retarded all this is by putting it in Neutral only, not touching the brakes. With the option to also put it in lower gear positions.

Then include shutting off the vehicle at 60+.
What I have seen, is the retarded spew of the news to not shut off the car
in fear only of loosing power steering.
You don't loose steering news idiots, just the added effort.

So far, not one published account has tried any of this.

Then compare this to how I do this every moment in my truck before getting to stop lights or backed up traffic to where brakes are rarely used by down shifting the automatic to lower gears to first gear then brakes.
Over 200,000 miles doing just this, times ten vehicles over time.

I'm aware of the computer on newer vehicles taking over deliberate wrong moves with the shifter at 60mph +, as this was just tried in a new $50K GMC.

The computer will not let you put it reverse at 60 mph like before even though moving the shifter to that position.

So somewhere along the way,
the government decided to make these new design rule changes to only benefit the retarded.

Taking my right away of using reverse at 60+ in the event I need to, I now will raise Holy jhad hell that the brake system failed, or a life saving tactic is needed.

and he's going 98 because the car doesn't stop accelerating. that was the whole thing with toyotas recall, to fix the accelerator and if you guys didn't watch the whole video, you cant stop the car no matter what you do, the accelerator overrides the gears, clutch, and just straight up burns through the brake and emergency brake. yes the driver could of avoided all this but 10 other people died in the same type of incident. this is more than just a human error its a whole corp of people workers and companies that don't care for the average driver or pedestrian

As all the previous posts have stated the simplest thing to do is shift into neutral, but then you don't have a lawsuit to cash in on...what he has illustrated for the world to see is that he does not posses the intelligence to be driving a car.

What most of these people do is not listen , meaning the women on the other end of the phone said TURN THE CAR OFF , PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL Did he NOPE so what was he trying to prove ????? Some people don't THINK they just ACT by calling the COPS ( which is the right thing to do but only if you cannot turn off & it keeps going & going ) Mostly if you TURN THE DAMN THING OFF IT WILL COAST TO AH STOP !

why not just shift to neutral? people are stupid. or on the other hand maybe he is really smart and trying to get some loot from toyota... either way people can shift out of gear

I am so tired of morons, if a cars accelerator is stuck, any car you do the same things.
1. push on the brakes
2. grip the steering wheel
3. put it in neutral
4. if that fails turn off the car
5. pull over safely and stop

what you dont do is
1. panic and flail your arms around
2. reach down and pull up on the accelerator as you might loose control of the car
3. call 911 on your cell phone you are already distracted enough and all they will tell you to do is 1-5 above...

I see Toyota's as weeding out the stupid, its evolution at work!
