One million signatures for banning GMOs in Europe

The European Commission has just approved growing
genetically modified crops for the first time in 12 years,
putting the GM lobby's profits over public concerns - 60% of
Europeans feel we need more information before growing foods
that could threaten our health and environment.

A new initiative allows 1 million EU citizens a unique
chance to make official requests of the European Commission.
Let's build a million voices for a ban on GM foods until the
research is done. Sign the petition below and spread the
word.

Don't forget to include your address so that all of our
signatures count for the citizens' initiative.

To the President of the European Commission José Manuel
Barroso: We call on you to put a moratorium on the
introduction of GM crops into Europe and set up an
independent, ethical, scientific body to research the impact
of GM crops and determine regulation.

    • Some say to me, how is it you can continue to talk about this constantly? Well, it is because this is one of the most important issues and crises regarding our ability to surivive on Earth that effects every facet of living on this planet. And that is important to me as it should be to all of us, and our media, and our government. However, in looking out on the landscape it would appear that neither the government or the media are willing to tell us truth about much of anything, so it is up to the people like me and others to make sure that truth gets to you.

      That to me is what Currrent is and should be about, and that, besides and firstly because of the love I have for my family is why I continue to persevere in getting out this information. And pardon the caps, but it is for emphasis only:

      THESE COMPANIES ARE LINING UP TO OWN YOUR FOOD AND WATER SUPPLIES.

      And they do not care if it affects your health or the environment. All they care about is profit, and unless WE take a stand to fight this, the future will be one in which monoculture promoted for their financial advantage will not only kill off many species and the biodiversity of this planet, it will then in time kill us.
