Meme Watch: Internet art and the 2012 Olympics
A friend sent me a link to a Facebook group called "2012 OLYMPICS LOOKS LIKE LISA SIMPSON GIVING HEAD"
Normally I don't delve into "blue humor" but this is particularly interesting because the group already has over 300k members. So I decided to investigate.
The 2012 summer Olympics will take place in London, England. This is their official logo:

It appears that internet artists have added different hues to convey their message that a character from popular animated program "The Simpsons" is performing oral copulation.

Other artists have opted for a less abstract rendition of this image:

Of course there is dissent in the community. This (MS)painter suggests that the image looks more like the nation of Australia performing fellatio upon its neighbor New Zealand.

Other users have proposed a different form of vulgarity. In this instance a radical artist, shows her distaste for the Olympics, by turning the abstract logo into a more concrete expletive.

Interesting developments in the world of internet art.
