Owner AOL announced on Tuesday that the social networking site Bebo may have to be sold off or close the site down for good.
The site has 12.8m users globally, but only gained popularity in Europe than the US. In an memo to the employees, AOL said "Bebo, unfortunately, is a business that has been declining and, as a result, would require significant investment in order to compete in the competitive social networking space"

That's weird I just deleted my account like two days ago after not having been on it for a year.
I think they could compete, they just need a fresh take as they said, and the money to do it.

It's still relatively popular in the UK but it's not competing enough on a worldwide scale with the likes of Facebook and (to an extent) Myspace, where Bebo users seem to be jumping ship to.
I've not been on there in years and had all but forgotten about it until today's news.
