I think Facebook is great for keeping in contact with family, like my sister lives all the way in Finland, I get to talk to her and see how she is getting on in life or even keep in contact with old friends. The only thing I hate about Facebook is the useless information people give you on there status, like '' I just eat biscuit and it was great'' or ''I'm well depressed. :( Okay, seriously. Who took my crayons?''. Who gives a feck about these things, if you have have something to say let it be creative and funny.

I find people who leave Facebook and self proclaim it are just as bad, maybe you and those other people who leave and shout about it should seek some help.

I heard that all the pictures one posts automatically becomes their propery - they can use them for their own purposes if they want (even if you delete your account). Does anyone know if this is true?

Everyone has to do what they think is best for themselves. I used Facebook to promote my podcast network via my personal page, along with the network's page. We get decent traffic from Facebook for both Perpetual Radio and my personal blog where this article was written on. While i know traffic will suffer on my site, i feel the privacy i get back is worth it to me.

Facefuck as I like to call it most definatly is evil they collect and sell far too much personal information on their users and there policy is to never, yes never delete it - even if you delete your profile, they know so much about you and your friends and you are probably oblivious if you knew the truth you wouldn't use it.

I don't think its that bad. The data I put on Facebook is what I'm happy to share. If you don't want it spread, then don't put it on. That isn't a reason to not use Facebook.
It's your choice to put the information on there. You don't have to. So stop complaining about a service that is completely free to use.
Practically no one uses Facebook to get laid. More keep in contact with friends. This is one of the most badly informed idiotic articles I have ever read.

It's not solely facebook anyway, its social media in general. If people choose to share that information then thats their choice. Anyway, the people who pose for drunk photos would be drunk in public anyway so its not like its top secret private things. My issue with facebook is their resistance to installing a panic button like CEOPS have advised them to as children do use facebook and it can make them more vulnerable.

In a way I do understand why they did it. Facebook have their own reporting system that allows you to do what the button does. By putting a giant button on everyone's profile it does start to take the fun away and makes Facebook seem a lot more dangerous than it really is. Most of it is just slander from the newspapers as we found out when the Daily Mail was sued for literally making up an entire article about it.
With all respect to the people that have had Facebook problems and as a result have died, they would never have pressed the button anyway. I think the current system is fine and Facebook shouldn't be criticised for refusing to put up the button asking for help when there is already a system in place.

I thought it was dangerous from the beginning. I never signed up and refused to let friends drag me into it. Amazing the lack of caution among my sweet, naive brethren. It's a voracious world out there, my Darlins.
