Tournament of Legends started out as a realistic gladiatorial combat game under the name Gladiator A.D. when it was first shown at E3 in 2009. After the expo, High Voltage Software signed again with The Conduit publisher SEGA and announced the revision of Gladiator A.D. as Tournament of Legends.
