If you missed it the google icon was a playable game, it was designed to celebrate 30 year anniversary of the old arcade game. However for google the website game boosted how long people stayed on the search site. Bet that's handy for the advertising end.

Though the article points out, if played at work the game probably made some companies lose money. "In dollar terms, assuming people are paid $25 (£17.50) an hour, this equates to about $120m in lost productivity, the firm said."-BBC
