Gulf Oil Ecocide: Is oil coming through the sea floor causing a gusher that cannot be stopped?

Image
JanforGore
First statistics have been released with new figures for the amounts of crude oil entering the gulf. Revised several times, each time the number increases, often exponentially. Science Daily today stated that as of June 9, the amounts of oil in the gulf could have, if used for fuel, powered 38,000 cars, 3400 trucks and 1800 ships for ONE FULL YEAR. And that's going with the latest figures, no doubt they'll be revised upward yet again

James J Corbett, a professor of marine policy at the University of Delaware supplied these figures, and has launched a website which reports the impact on a daily basis.

Horrific enough, there's another scenario being put forth by geologist Chris Landau, who believes there's another complication no one is talking about - which might simply mean the definitive death of the Gulf and potentially more connected waters. In an article for OpEdNews, Landau states:

My worst fears have been realized. If this link is true and the oil is coming through the sea floor, they have either blown out the formation or blown out the cement (which we know they did anyway to get the blowout to occur). I am beginning to realize why they have not wanted to close the valves on the cap. The more they close it, the more oil is going to come up through the sea floor, next to the well casing. I listed 12 points in my attached article. The really big concern here is that their directional wells are now pointless. They are GUARANTEED to fail because you cannot pump mud or cement into a blown out well. It just does not set with oil and gas roaring past.

The next biggest concern is that they have to get 8 new wells in immediately to relieve the background oil and gas pressure. The oil is going to start coming up at an ever increasing rate along the casing and the blowout preventer. The oil and gas is going to act as a high pressure pressure-washer and erode away all the sandstone and mudstone. There is nothing they can do about it.

This is also the end of B.P. The claims will go on forever.

But that's not even the worst of it!! There's the matter of whether or not the oil is fossil fuel (30 to 200 million years old) or oil which is being produced right now, in a different process which generates oil quickly. Very quickly.

Landau continues:

The oil is either old oil, say almost as old as the formation, or they have drilled into a massive active fault zone that is reducing carbon dioxide to methane. If it is high inhydrogen sulfide, it is reducing calcareous sediments to oil and more natural gas in the presence of salt solutions. Now they are providingmore saltwater, so via the Wurtz Synthesis more oil is going to be created than natural gas. The methane is going to be converted to ethane, propane, butane, pentane and other long chain organic compounds. You see if oil is being made now, at a very rapid rate in this area, the pressure is never, ever going to drop off along the casing and the oil is going to flow into the gulf forever. The only hope to reduce the pressure will be by sinking more new wells into this area and try and drain off the oil and gas as quickly as it is being made.
snip

One last point that the public does not understand. It is not about deep water drilling where the problems have arisen. It is about high pressure oil and gas drilling that creates the problems. These zones can be found on land as well as at sea and can start from as little as 10000 feet, not the 20000 of this well. These high pressure wells have always been a problem. Of the millions of wells drilled, there are thousands of these ticking time bomb, high pressure wells in existence and new ones are being drilled every day. New risks are being taken daily.

I have also not found any evidence that BP or the government or any of the organizations involved here is even looking at bioremediation, a process I wrote about in two previous articles here linked above, and one which has been used successfully in numerous previous spills. So maybe it's not 100%perfect but it doesn't disperse oil, it EATS it and delivers oxygen and CO2. It saves the wildlife and habitat, and at this rate, could mean the difference between utter devastation and possible recovery.

Whilst it undeniable that this is a major F-up for mineral exploitation, this is not the first time the Gulf of Mexico has experienced a substantial oil spill - Ixtoc 1 (1979) 140 million gallons.

And whilst the US and UK media play the blame game, can I just remind all of the Exxon Valdez and the environmental damage caused or how about the Amoco Cadiz. Also I would like to point out that that the rigs owned by BP have a substantial American work crew and the resources mainly prime American beneficiaries, so to lay the blame solely at the British door is unwarrantable.

The blame lies with those who thought this could never happen, who failed to plan for the one-at-odds chance of catastrophe and those not having a suitable and effective back-up plan on how to effectively resolve a geological problem.

All must take blame, from the consumer of plastic goods and merchandise, to the drivers of petroleum powered vehicles to the barons of heavy industry for this catastrophe. If "our" economy and lifestyle wasn't so dependently driven by oil then there might never have been a need to tap this particular unstable sea-bed resource.

    • burning the oil will save the atmosphere having to soak up the; octane, benzine, propane, hexane and all the other gasoline components. the longer the oil is exposed, the more the lighter compounds evaporate leaving behind the thickest component, asphalt.
a fence to contain the leak doesn't have to go deep, as oil floats.

and it will kill anything not yet dead in the Gulf. Not to mention rapid evaporation of saltwater during the Hurricane season will dramatically alter weather patterns across the Eastern United States.

Evil is judged by its results. Killing large numbers of people to pad one's wallet with crude oil fortunes -as Monkey_Films has quite well shown was the case with his great Google searches on the history of car engines and hemp- shows us evil all the way back.

However, that was not the only variable. In 1903 Henry Ford and other early automakers held a meeting where they agreed a compressed air engine should be built not crude oil combustion. That is where WWI came in and powerful engines were needed. The war in 1914 turned the herd and took us down this path of death and cancers.

1914 was known to early Bible students in Pennsylvania [who 5+ decades later adopted the name of Jehovah's Witnesses]. They knew 30+ years ahead of 1914 that that year was a marked year, marked by Bible Prophecy the fulfillment of the "times of the nations" Jesus had mentioned. Those times ran out in 1914 and the Bible students knew it long ahead of time.

1914 was the pivot point that took us away from green technologies.

The "malicious intent" was over-supplied by Satan. In 1914 war broke out in Heaven (see Revelation chapter 12 for that). Satan lost that battle and was thrown down here, with us, hating us all. So the Bible writer wrote for us "Woe to the earth and the sea, for the Devil has come down to you having great anger".

", knowing he has a short period of time".
We are in the crescendo of this orchestra.
We're staring down a shotgun barrel aimed by Satan, not mere men.

"Woe to the earth" has several meanings, one literal meaning Planet Dirt but the other meaning comes from man made of dust. Many men can be used to mean "earth" also. In most cases like this the Bible is fulfilled in both meanings.

Earth as in the ground in the best sense means good loamy soil. I call this Planet Dirt because we are turning it into a lifeless dirt clod.

Humans were made to be loamy. Nowadays we consume food raised in dirt and fertilizer. We are not the same quality as Adam & Eve. We are drained and need a New World System and it just so happens such a thing was prepared long ago but recently took action in 1914 => http://www.watchtower.org/e/20060715/article_02.htm

Gravity_Man has an intense understanding of engineering, electrical engineering and alternative energy sources. You maroons complain that we need something new but it's the people like you that ignore the good work of people like Gravity_Man that keep us trapped in our dependence on oil and coal.

You can't even come close to understanding the work Gravity_Man does so it figures a lightweight like yourself would dismiss him just because he's a Christian.

"He thinks it's evil because he knows how to use cosmic energy to power 15 earths and anti gravity technology to move us around." That quote alone shows that you have no idea how any of Mr. Gravity's projects work and have paid little to no attention to his descriptions in his posts. I am sure Einstein and others dealt with disbelievers such as yourself. It's a damn good thing they ignored the masses and continued on with work others called crazy.

Someone's religious beliefs in no way have anything to do with the results they produce in a society such as ours. In fact, many scientists are now changing their mind about the existence of a 'God' as we get closer to discovering the deepest molecular particles.

Some of the best advancements of all sorts in modern society were done by Christians. In today's modern society we should have progressed past qualifying someone's work or opinions based on their religious beliefs. I think most of us have.

BTW, I'm not the monkey, I make films that even monkeys can understand, that way people like you won't be lost on the meaning or subject.

Many college professors gathered together and discussing the meaning of the world would sound loony to you. Just because the information is above your head, doesn't mean it's not valid.

Quit making yourself look stupid and leave the thinking to the professionals. Some people mow lawns and drink beer, good for them (you) and some people design the lawnmowers (Gravity_Man) don't question the design, just shut up and mow.

Highly intelligent people often talk in metaphors because their wealth of knowledge allows them to make a plethora of comparisons between seemingly, 'to the simple', unrelated issues. Just because you can't follow along, doesn't make you a bad person and it shouldn't upset you. While most are born with great mental abilities; some just aren't. Additionally, most born with the ability are never taught properly to use it.

I do not, however, look down upon you for being simple minded. I think it's cute, almost like attempting to debate with a toddler, it's rewarding and fun until the toddler decides to vomit some nonsense all over your paper.

Don't worry, I have become quite good at cleaning up the vomit from juvenile minds and won't punish you for doing so.

Damn, metaphors again, are you okay? Following along?

Your consumer based brainwashing made you dislike him for being funny looking and having a funny voice. You never got past the surface that you've been taught to concentrate on to examine and understand what the man was saying. To this day, you continue to think it's funny to poke fun of him for being 'different' when his ideas would have dramatically helped this country.

Totally wasted on you buddy. Jehovah has in times past confused the minds of the enemy and we have seen that happen with BP several times already. They can't even form their words properly in the hearings if you but listen to them.

I was denser than Einstein. I'm not real filled with knowledge either. What I have is a gift that was given me to see answers where apparently others could not. One time not too long ago I was reading in the Bible and there was something the Father wanted me to see so a great light came up from those lines He wanted me to see and hit me straight in both eyes.

I'm not too bright so when I need to know something He wants me to tell others He has to get my attention. I jerked my head back hard because I thought I had been branded but instead of major pain there was none at all. It must have been the same light that Moses saw in the burning bush that wasn't being burned.

What engines I know how to make, I had help. You must be taking drugs because you twist what I write and make it say something else. That's lying and it accomplishes very little. On the other hand, when I am completely truthful I get even more blessings.

So you are cutting yourself out of blessings.

Everything, and there was too much to list, that Ben Franklin invented was met with comments such as yours. For someone to suggest that the world was round was considered to be the talk of a lunatic at one time. It's sad that after discovery after discovery after invention after discovery and after more invention some people still are stuck in the mindset that only what is popular opinion is true and possible.

Right now there are thousands of people in the world that are working on ideas and inventions that until they are promoted by a large corporation most will think is 'crazy' talk.

Don't leave home, MrMxyzptlk, I hear not far out of town the world just drops off.

At times what we see & what is really going down differ =>

Let's hypothesize there was a small group that had most of the money and power to get things done and keep them secret... they now know they can move to the Moon [since it has been found to have as much water as the Great Lakes you see] and live apart from us nutjobs they can't stand any longer. So they break a-loose in their hidden spaceship fleet that easily gets them to the Moon like so many porpoises then they direct their laser weapon into a deep ocean fissure ~that has lava flow already an open wound sshhh~ and super heat through the lava.

Earth blows to space dust & the Moon is freed of the gravitational lock.

Once on the Moon, they live in their spaceships we dummies were kept from finding out about. They strap down some heavy new-design propulsion engines to propel the Moon over to rendezvous with Mars and swing into Mars orbit. Mission Accomplished, you bunch of dumb religious f***ks we finally have our Society without Bibles.

A plan worthy of the Anti-Christ!, plus they violated the Bible's statement at Ecclesiastes 1 vs 4 that "the Earth abideth forever", proving once and for all time the Bible was wrong since they so easily blew it up Earth-no-more, and God & Jesus were nowhere to be found, No-Shows. Therefore they were completely exonerated of erasing humanity of the RELIGIOUS GENE DISEASE.

I can spin as good -and fictitious- an elite yarn as anybody, when I want. Isn't it amazing how fiction sometimes can seem so real, even at times plausible?

It's my job to warn, no matter how it looks.

I used "like so many porpoises" on purpose, a direct reference over to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie. I did that for a reason my friends. The people possibly planning to do such a thing that is completely and technologically doable, they still have Principles. They don't want to live with a stained conscience. I've been noticing over the years that they were deliberately telling / conveying their plans via our movies... so that if & when they ever found themselves in a position to get away from all religion they would be able to say in all truthfulness they had warned us.

Instant clean conscience. Very principled. To a fault.

None of which in the above two posts worries me even it was true. I've had numerous "witnesses" given me telling me Jesus is to act soon. One of those witnesses happened to me was in the higher post where I related my experience with light flashing from the Bible lines as I was reading. I have had other witnesses given me just as great, several in the past 2-3 weeks.

When I weaken Jehovah or Jesus one gives me these signs to strengthen my resolve to keep writing. I personally think it's one helluva plan and strategy they have worked over the decades soaking up taxpayer monies like a giant SPONGE while letting the infrastructure go straight to hell, the pipes used to carry our drinking water falling into disrepair and so on.

So now they have speeded up their deception, by floating subs off of Iran pretending to threaten the next World War. It saddens me to see so many of you educated people being unaware of the shell game, like this oil spill that could've easily been stopped early on but they let it worsen. It keeps everybody's eyes trained where they want you to look => ALWAYS AWAY FROM THEM.

None of us can stop such a plan nor do we need to if we are praying as Jesus said for God's Kingdom to come. That rulership and heaven based government is going to take the reins soon. Knock on the door. It will open.

The desire to escape the confines of planet earth is strong. Some people think our early ancestors were space travelers and escaped also, leaving us to us. So the precedent, they think, has already happened once before. That belief gives them much encouragement they can do the same. They have supercomputers they can hold in one hand that are many thousands of times faster and more data storage than the early Cray computers... all of which they needed to lighten the load.

Not only have they sprinkled bread crumbs around of their plan through our movies and TV, look also in the comic strips, the old Dick Tracy romanticizing a Moon Maid, an industrialist who looked like Dick Cheney if you recall back that far. He designed a simple spaceship that used magnetism. Well, one of my designs also uses magnetism so I know this is possible.

I figured out Tesla's system in ONE DAY; they had 40-50-60 YEARS. Anyone who thinks they don't have spaceships already built -with all the tax monies they didn't use on maintaining our infrastructure- is in dreamland. All these stupid little wars and skirmishes and quagmires has been keeping everybody mourning the loss of their children soldiers => more shell game moves.

This is where the Bible comes in. The Satan many of you don't believe can exist has been privy to my every move before I made it. I've been struggling against this one for several decades. He knows my moves and launches countermoves that kick in before I make my next move. I have been aced at every turn. This tells me the End is Extra Near. But not for believers. They survive according to Revelation 7 vs 14 => "these are the ones who come out of the great tribulation".

They do that because they took action early "washing their robes" to have a clean condition => God and Jesus recognize them as friends and obedient "sheep" in their flock marked for survival. Sheep in the sense they travel in the same direction as they are ordered. Those in the flock are protected by the shepherd.

Then comes a re-Creation event (Matthew 19 vs 28) where survivors are restored to perfect health strengthening them for the work ahead, but a happy work. During this time Satan is placed in stocks where he can't mess with us for a thousand years. You want to be there. Anyone who makes plans to harm you as they do now will find their perfection draining away as they turn back to dust forever. In other words stuff like you'd hope would happen to certain of our past leaders.

    • Instead of loading all the captured oil onto ships and bringing it to land to refine, they plan on just burning it. FAIL

#1. They don't care about global warming.
#2. That's oil from US Gulf of Mexico and should be our oil. Don't just burn it, give it to Americans- free oil for all.
#3. Adds to the toxicity of the air. Clean Air Act anyone?

Why drill for oil if you are just going to burn it when you get it? Let other countries help out with the shipment to oil to refineries. EPA do your job! Don't let them burn this.

      ________________________________________

WASHINGTON — BP is planning to burn as much as 10,000 barrels of crude a day captured from the Deepwater Horizon well in an effort to maximize the amount of oil that can be recovered by ships currently floating above the spewing well.

Flaring between 5,000 and 10,000 barrels a day will help BP and the Coast Guard continue pulling oil from the Gulf of Mexico even if the amount of crude surpasses the 15,000 to 18,000 barrel per day capacity of the Discoverer Enterprise, the drill ship that currently is taking on crude through a "top hat" containment device that was placed on the well's blowout preventer last week.

A second rig, the Q4000, which will pull oil directly from the well's damaged blowout preventer, is being fitted with equipment that will allow it to flare both crude and natural gas. Those modifications should be completed in two or three days.

A Coast Guard official familiar with the plan said late Wednesday that he didn't know whether the Environmental Protection Agency had signed off on the plan, though he thought it likely that the agency had been consulted. "We are joined at the hip with the EPA," he said.

Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, the Obama administration's point man on the Deepwater Horizon spill, confirmed that flaring equipment was being added to the Q4000 during his daily briefing with reporters Wednesday.

Burning the oil is critical to resolving what has become an increasingly obvious problem with the current recovery efforts at the Deepwater Horizon site — that far more oil is pouring from the well than the Discoverer Enterprise's ability to handle it.

A government panel of experts has estimated that at least 12,000 to 25,000 barrels of oil are leaking from the well daily, and probably much more. One scientist told McClatchy on Monday that he thinks the well may be spewing as much as 100,000 barrels a day.

Officials acknowledged Wednesday that they had recovered "a little more than 15,000 barrels" in the previous 24 hours — the maximum amount that they'd previously said the Discoverer Enterprise could process in a day. Allen said Wednesday that officials now think the Discoverer Enterprise might be able to handle as much as 18,000 barrels a day.

With video showing clouds of oil and natural gas still billowing into the water, however, that additional 3,000 barrels seems unlikely to dent the leak.

The Q4000 has been pressed into service on two other occasions in fighting the Deepwater Horizon spill, once to lower a 78-ton containment dome to the seafloor and then again late last month when it served as the platform for pumping thousands of barrels of drilling fluid into the well's blowout preventer in the failed "top kill" procedure.

Once flaring equipment is installed, the Q4000 will pull oil from the blowout preventer through the same pipes that it used to pump the drilling lubricants into the well during the unsuccessful "top kill" effort. Allen said at least 5,000 of that will be burned when it reaches the surface and that he hopes to have the ability to recover 28,000 barrels a day between the two vessels.

The Coast Guard official said the goal was to be able to continue to pull as much oil from the Gulf as possible without having to worry about offloading the oil to drilling barges — something that would have been a frequent need given the Q4000's limited storage capacity.

"The goal," he said, "is to remove as much oil as possible."

    • (I have also not found any evidence that BP or the government or any of the organizations involved here is even looking at bioremediation, a process I wrote about in two previous articles here linked above, and one which has been used successfully in numerous previous spills. So maybe it's not 100%perfect but it doesn't disperse oil, it EATS it and delivers oxygen and CO2. It saves the wildlife and habitat, and at this rate, could mean the difference between utter devastation and possible recovery.
      cont.)

Jan, I am working with the company that does bioremediation and we are going to 'sneak' into the gulf this week with cameras and test the microbes on film. I will be writing a story and providing the video footage at the end of next week.

Planting a Bomb to collapse the oil well seems feasible... But what about all the neighboring oil rigs? What kind of effect will this have on wells and structures in the surrounding Gulf of Mexico?

Very interesting and informative.I Personally am all for using the oil eating microbes which seems like the safest bet but i'm starting to get the feeling this is all being set up because the people in charge can't be this dumb.

I made my suggestion in another thread and it would not include nukes. You also don't seem to have any answers on the effects of that because you are just the "postman", right? So my question regarding what effects nuking it would have on the ecosystems already being destroyed seems valid. Also, just because we have been exploding bombs under water "for years" doesn't mean there have been no effects from it, and it doesn't mean this would be the same based on the extent of the damage. I am simply not willing to do something that could actually wind up making it worse, which based on your response above would mean you can't assure it wouldn't be worse. True?

I represent the largest company doing Bioremediation based out of Texas. Well, I don't represent but I am helping them try to get the government to pay attention. Since you asked, they could have the entire spill cleaned up and the ocean back to healthy in about a month given enough money to spread the microbes. They could do this with absolutely no damage to the environment and can even fix damage already done.

However, none of the oil 'fixed' would be recoverable for a profit to BP. This is the ONLY reason it is not currently being done.

      From you:

"The U.S. have been releasing underground atomic bombs for decades."

The U.S. has been doing a lot of things that are damaging to society and the environment for decades. That doesn't make it right.

BP and Obama are in the same camp. Obama has allowed BP to violate our sovereignty and violate international laws by controlling the Gulf and surrounding beach areas with it's own security force. Any boardroom meeting they have will be to ask how to minimalize damage to their careers and how to capitalize on the situation by exerting more control over the people in their countries.

Shhh, can you hear them? Yes, that's them, the taxes that always follow a well planned disaster.

    • "The amounts of oil in the gulf could have, if used for fuel, powered 38,000 cars, 3400 trucks and 1800 ships for ONE FULL YEAR"

I think a vein in my eye popped when I thought about that too long...

Dumb, partisanship is for those who still believe Washington represents the people. Both parties are the same and only pretend to be different to keep the people divided.

    • if the oil can be contained in a plastic silo; say, 1 mile across and down to the sea floor, then oil prices will drop as bp tries to sell it off as waste. we may have to eat refined oil just to get rid of it.
the real problem is hydrogen sulfide (HS), it is so toxic that just a few parts per billion will kill instantly. when i worked on oil rigs, i was warned about the hs alarm and what it meant. i know of no other compound as deadly.
the pressure rising is a bad sign, it should be lowering as the formation is being blown away and the hole eroding larger.

I like the containment idea. Canvas, plastic silo, whatever works and can be manufactured fast. Maybe there is something that already exists in pieces that cn be put together rapidly. Then bring in LOTS of ships to vacuum the oil caught in the isolated area. Take the oil to the refineries or store on barges. Other countries will help out. Don't burn the oil!

    • OIL..... What, a century old energy source has done to our world! Although it has taken roughly a 100 years of wars for oil and the burning of it but the world has simply said enough is enough! Mother Earth is giving us what we have been rapping her for decades, a unstoppable source of oil from the very heart of the planet. This hole that has opened the center of the earth will drowned us in our stupidity.

" Japan wants the US military out."

      incorrect!

Sorry, you are the one that is wrong this time, zichi, not futuregen. As follows from Time Magazine six days ago:

By MARK THOMPSON / WASHINGTON Mark Thompson / Washington – Tue Jun 8, 2:55 pm ET

The continued U.S. military presence in Japan has been a growing concern for the Japanese public, and last week it became a lever to pry Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama from office. The first Democratic Party Prime Minister in half a century may have brought that fate upon himself by promising during last fall's election campaign to move a key U.S. air base off Okinawa, and perhaps out of Japan entirely. That promise broke with his predecessors' tradition of treating the U.S. presence in Japan as an American birthright, but what proved to be Hatoyama's undoing was his failure to deliver.

You don't know the definition of spill apparently. However the definition of the word also depends on what dictionary you are looking at. The following is from Merriam-Webster:

1 a archaic : kill, destroy b : to cause (blood) to be lost by wounding
2 : to cause or allow especially accidentally or unintentionally to fall, flow, or run out so as to be lost or wasted
3 a : to relieve (a sail) from the pressure of the wind so as to reef or furl it b : to relieve the pressure of (wind) on a sail by coming about or by adjusting the sail with lines
4 : to throw off or out
      5 : to let out : divulge
