Times begins charges for online readers

If you want to read a news article from the Times online, you better be prepared to pay £1 per day or £2 a week with a subscription account because today the pay wall went up.

The website has been building this venture for a while and allowed users to preview the new site via a registration before the wall went up.

"Currently the Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal are the only major papers to have similar paywalls. All other national papers offer free access to their sites, but are likely to watch the launch of the Times paywall closely."-BBC

There are a few reports of bugs coming up, with the BBC saying the Times online traffic dropped by 60%. Though it is early days yet for the pay wall, will it change and develop?
