The MET office has completed and released a report, which is said to show the "unmistakable" rise in the worlds temperature over the last three decades. You can read the full report online here: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/corporate/pressoffice/2010/pr20100728.html

The report looked into 10 indicators and "each indicator proved consistent with a warming world."

"Rising indicators
1. Air temperature over land
2. Sea-surface temperature
3. Marine air temperature
4. Sea-level
5. Ocean heat
6. Humidity
7. Tropospheric temperature in the ‘active-weather’ layer of the atmosphere closest to the Earth’s surface

Declining indicator
1. Arctic sea-ice
2. Glaciers
3. Spring snow cover in the northern hemisphere"-MET Office

The article by the Telegraph states new technology allowed research of ocean temperatures, which was useful to the study because the ocean absorbs 90% of the world heat and would be a good indicator to if those temperatures are rising.

The article is an interesting read and talks about the reactions, while also referring to climate gate.

"But climate change sceptics questioned the evidence, especially in the wake of recent scandals like "climategate". [...] Met Office, said “variability” in different regions, such as the cold winter in Britain, does not mean the rest of the world is not warming."-Telegraph

    • I don't think anybody disputes global warming, just the fact that it's caused by human activity. For another point of view watch the documentary 'the great global warming swindle', or better yet, do your own research and decide for yourself...
