"If the 20th century was an expansive era seemingly without boundaries—a time of jet planes, space travel and the Internet—the early years of the 21st have showed us the limits of our small world. Regional blackouts remind us that the flow of energy we used to take for granted may be in tight supply. The once mighty Colorado River, tapped by thirsty metropolises of the desert West, no longer reaches the ocean. Oil is so hard to find that new wells extend many kilometers underneath the seafloor. The boundless atmosphere is now reeling from two centuries’ worth of greenhouse gas emissions. Even life itself seems to be running out, as biologists warn that we are in the midst of a global extinction event comparable to the last throes of the dinosaurs.

I think that the weather patterns and temp changes are a result of Galactic Alignment.

You are right. But look at what happens. It is ignored.
Or deluged with people telling everyone that the scientists who have earned degrees in their fields and study problems are lying to make a profit. I've never gotten any kind of explanation of exactly HOW they are making a profit by lying.
Or pissing and moaning because Al Gore is making a profit by investing in renewable energy. OK---so why don't YOU invest in renewable energy and get rich like Al Gore? No explanation there either.
But the latest escapade of the Drill Baby Barbie gets 120 comments and still counting---compared to 7 for this.
So, everyone watches breathlessly and has 50 opinions about So You Want To Be A Star-------and can't wait for the latest smart phone app. BP well is plugged?(sigh of relief) OK, back to business as usual.
I'm thinking now that the human race is mostly a pack of idiots. Maybe the human race is not worth saving after all. Well, at least industrial civilization. Humans will survive. It is just the people who can not survive without an industrial complex to coddle them and provide for their every whim who won't survive.

I say we should go back to basics. Go off the grid. Go back to the forest (oh wait... there's no more forest!). Have you watched The Colony on the Discovery Channel (US)? http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/colony/ Scary but eye-opening.

VERY interesting link----you can spend hours with it. A LOT of information contained there. Thanks!!! I've added this to my favorites---I'm sure I'll be going back again and again.
It's YOUR fault my laundry didn't get done! I think you should make amends by coming and doing my laundry!!!!! (I wonder if that will effect the water timeline?)
