The new technology invented by computer scientists in Germany is said to allow directors to increase or decrease the body shape of actors on screen. According to the article, the creators hope the technology will help actors avoid extreme dieting for roles in films.

However, one criticism would be, can the technology be used for advertising airbrushing and produce the unrealistic body images known in photo-shopped magazine adverts.
