The more hybrid cars and battery electric cars are on the road, the more battery pack we'll eventually have to deal with. It's still a better problem to have than to have to deal with vehicles that burn significantly more non-renewable fossil fuels, with the waste products going straight in the atmosphere. :http://www.treehugger.com/files/2010/10/toyota-begins-nimh-battery-to-battery-recycling-in-japan.php

SO what look up what it take make these battery's in the first place and then calculate that on all the cars on the road and you can see that his was just like the wrong move .. the amount of pollution from making them is just more than you save.. and rebuilding them isn't going to save as they will not be as the new ones and will still end up in places they should not.
