Like me but don't poke me - says the Queen

No you can't poke the Queen, but you can now be one of the thousands who can stalk her on her new Facebook page.
Only an hour after her page had launched this morning the Queen had racked up 40,000 new followers.
The actual page is called The British Monarchy and it provides a hi-tech version of the traditional Court Circular (a posh diary of events and appearances), detailing the daily engagements of members of the Royal Family and allowing users to comment on the arrangements.
Photographs of members of the Royal family are being uploaded onto the page and users are able to search for future Royal visits, ceremonies and engagements in their area using a "Near Me" application (but we wouldn't recommend that you poke her then either).
The new Facebook page has been described as "the final frontier" of the Queen's foray into digital technology from a traditional household who are surprisingly tech savvy.
The Royals already have a Twitter account - @BritishMonarchy, with 70,148 followers. There is also the TheRoyalChannel on YouTube, which has 32,418 subscribers and whose films have been watched 8.3million times over the past three years, as well as a flickr account and William's and Charles's own websites. If only our own families were that plugged in...
