    • I've thought a bit about it, and I think someday---way far away---I'll adopt a kid. But I think, if this is an option then, that I'd like a biological child as well with my partner.

    • This is certainly an interesting topic of conversation. I think it falls into the same category as engineering your children to have a specific hair color, eye color, gender.

      There are some things that shouldn't be messed with in my opinion.

    • They should just adopt anyways. Im sorry but I really feel that adoption should be the first option before turning your body into an experiment, these kids are here already and need loving homes. Gays are perfect to provide them those homes. If I have kids I can tell you I will be adopting.

      this is true, and i myself have wondered what it would be like to have a child that looks like me and thinks like me. But I think that children that are here now deserve a chance before I go making one of my own.

      I see it as a free choice issue.

      I'm gay, and I would never want to get married- but I believe gays who want to get married should have that right.

      I would never want to be in the military- but I believe gays who want to serve openly should have that right.

      I would never want to have kids, either adopted or created- but I believe gays who want to should have every option available to them.

      A lesbian stand up comic said- gays are the most conservative people around. They want to get married, serve in the military, have kids, and put them in the boy scouts, while straight people stopped doing all those things long ago!

      Anyone adopting a child is admirable, but I would hesitate before saying gays "should" just adopt. What gays "should" do, and have the freedom to do, is make that choice themselves.

      How would you feel if you were pressured into adopting a child, when at heart you truly wanted genetic offspring? An adopted child should feel like it was really, truly wanted--not a pressured choice---and homosexuals should be just as free to procreate as heterosexuals.

      You have a point, but that is still how I feel. There are thousands of children with no home, no loving parents, nothing. Now do I think we should force gay couples to adopt? Hell no, i don't think anyone should be forced into something they are not 100% about, especially adoption.
