In a filing in federal appeals court in the District of Columbia, Verizon argues that the Federal Communications Commission overstepped its authority in adopting the new "network neutrality" rules last month.
The rules prohibit phone and cable companies from favoring or discriminating against Internet content and services -- including online calling services such as Skype and Internet video services such as Netflix, which in many cases compete with services sold by companies like Verizon.
The FCC's three Democrats adopted the rules over the opposition of the agency's two Republicans just before Christmas. Republicans in Congress, who now control the House, have vowed to try to block them from taking effect. They argue that the rules amount to unnecessary regulation that will discourage the phone and cable companies from investing in their networks.
The new rules give providers some leeway to manage their networks to deal with congestion and unwanted traffic, including spam, as long as they publicly disclose their practices.

I just got Verizon - I am going to call them to complain, I left Comcast - I can also quit Verizon if they start interfering with my internets.
TO ALL BUSINESSES THAT WISH TO GET MY BUSINESS - STAY OUT OF POLITICS OR LOSE MY BUSINESS.
So far I have boycotted many business and will continue until the only products and services I use have the LIBERAL seal of approval.
Does anyone know where to go to get a "Liberal Seal of Approval"? Maybe that would be a good website/blog to start!

neutrality is usually a good thing. We should follow the model of Switzerland.

Listen up people. The internet poses a threat to the matrix-like false reality we have here in America. It is a threat to the rich and powerful. One way or another they are going to censor the internet. Free speech be damned. You will have Republicans whispering in your ear about "freedom" and how somehow not giving corporations full control over the internet amounts to the apocalypse. But Republicans are lying fucktards. They are loyal to the corporations and not the people.
If Republicans get their way, we'll be a police state under full fascist control of the corporations.

If you haven't read it yet, take a look at Steve Wozniak's open letter on net neutrality as published in The Atlantic earlier this month. Pretty interesting points.

"Republicans in Congress, who now control the House, have vowed to try to block them from taking effect. They argue that the rules amount to unnecessary regulation that will discourage the phone and cable companies from investing in their networks."
Those Idiots. They wouldn't invest in it even if it were open without regulations. The Idea is to just charge more for the same crappy service and then charge even more for something kind of faster. Phone companies are not going out of their way to fix their problems they are just tacking on more money.
Why is it so wrong to the Republicans to stand up against companies that are screwing us? I mean there has got to be a few that are actually decent human beings that see what is going on here.

Time for mandated line sharing.
Dumb asses at the FCC just wouldn't listen, we all told them and they just didn't listen.
They fucked up so bad that they have accelerated the Carriers move to prioritized internet services.
