Will.i.am named Intel's director of creative innovation

Odd-couple or match made in heaven, who knows, we don't think Intel even knows.

The world's largest computer chip manufacturer have just announced that the music producer and frontman for the Black Eyed Peas is its new Director of Creative Innovation.

Intel said in a statement: "Specifics haven’t been disclosed, but Deborah Conrad [Intel vice president and chief marketing officer] said that the partnership between will.i.am and Intel is the marrying of two worlds - entertainment and technology - in order to create what she calls “the ultimate experience.”

This "ultimate experience" whatever it nay be will according to both Intel and will.i.am be totally creative, and innovative, and creatively innovative and like totally awesome.

Watch and cringe…

    • What. The. Hell. I wasn't aware that will.i.am was an expert in computer hardware...obviously I'm just not paying hard enough attention to all the subtle references in his songs.

    • Seems to be a new trend for celebrity endorsement now. Lady Gaga holds a similar position with Polaroid.

At least I can imagine her choosing colour schemes for cameras or including a few snaps in her music videos. How's Will.i.am will have any useful input at Intel? Daft.
