    • GMO's like canola and soy oil in your salad dressings, for example. The only reason consumers still purchase this stuff is because, like climate change deniers, consumers are being fed lies, slanted short-term studies, by corporations whose ONLY INTEREST is in making profits. I wonder if these guys eat the genetically changed products they promote?

    • genetically-modified, preservative-laden pseudo-foods have devolved the masses into genetically-preserved, hormonal sub-humans. trading in any sort of permanent serenity for their next momentary glee.

    • This is why are children are developing such strange deformities because they only want to research side effects of the present, but who knows what this genetically changed food do to our systems, of I. They even leave our systems fully to begin with!!

Yes there have been studies linking soy to early puberty and physical changes in boys. Allergies have increased as has obesity and juvenile diabetes. It's in everything we eat in this country along with their corn. It's even in ice cream. Why do we need corn in ice cream? I do believe our food policy is the greatest threat to our health, and why any healthcare bill that does not address this and our environmental policy in connection with it is far from adequate.

    • Don't eat the mutagens! Other countries are looking at the US and taking a 'let's wait and see what happens to their kids' approach. Being fat and full must make us slow on the uptake!

    • Gees, I think fluoride in our water system is a communist plot to weaken America too. Wow, scare tactics and the masses. We wouldn't want to develop things that might feed the world. Just let' em starve, no problem as long as people don't eat those modified foods!!!!

OH, and here, drink up. This cow is suffering and in pain with mastitis after being shot up with RBGH hormone to make pus milk to make people RICHER. It has nothing to do with feeding starving people.

Are you friggin kidding me? People need to take control of thier food sources, and no one would starve if more people learned the one basic skill that has held humanity together for millenia, agriculture! A quarter arce garden can provide all the produce a family of four needs ad infinitum! Two well fed chickens can provide a dozen eggs a day as well as help with controlling insectoid pests! A single goat can keep another half acre of grassy yard and brush clear all year round and provide great fertalizer, milk, and even meat. A single pig can consume all of a household's digestable waste, again while providing fertalizer, being a free laborer turning your compost heap for you, and even more meat... The only people in this world who starve are those unwilling to work for thier food.

    • Thanks, Jan. They are sneaking stuff in processed foods everywhere. Too bad there is no mainstream way to reach people to tell them about this. Even only a small portion have seen Food, Inc. I think it should be shown to every 6th and 8th grade in the US every year! Twice so they learn it in 6th and comprehend and retain better in 8th.

The thing is that GMO corn is encroaching all fields due to winds and pollination. The regulation on GMO needs to be tight, and consumer do have the last word. So educate the masses if you will, that is the only way to stop it.

    • I still can't believe most of these companies don't put labels for GMO foods. I guess knowing if it contains yellow #2 is more important.

You are spot in when you are amazed that the GMO food is not easily identified on the packaging. Yet, do not underestimate the damage some of the colors can do. I recall that Hubba Bubba used to make a blue Lollipop that was outlawed in Europe due to the negative ingredients of the color blue. Some even link behavior in children to things such as colors and other damaging ingredients in our foods.

The principle of "substantial equivalence" which is the label the FDA used when GMOs first were foisted on us is the reason why these companies get away with not labelling their foods. I wish there was a way to get that rescinded somehow. As long as that stands it will be an uphill battle to get truth on labels, but of course one worth fighting to protect us and our children.

For sure. I have heard of that also. Yellow #2 was the first thing off the top o' my head haha. It is sad that a good percentage of people don't even think to read the ingredients. Even with stuff like cosmetics (which I know this is off topic), but the cosmetics industry has similar problems. Watch this video and you'll see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfq000AF1i8

Yeah.. the GMO products may be "substantially" similar to the regular ones, but shouldn't we have a choice? Or at least knowledge of the products containing them? That's my biggest problem with this. I want a choice.

    • Voted up as usual.
But we really need to do more than just boycott or protest or sign petitions.
I have not bought a Kraft or P&G or Koch brothers product in the past 30 years that I know of, only buying organic and mom & pop stuff.
This is obviously not working very well.
We organic, solar and wind power people are still under 5% of the population.
      I wish I had a positive solution but I don't.
      Perhaps Anonymous can help.
What we really need is a tipping-point crisis to wake us all up!
Hopefully by then it won't be too late to do anything about.

    • Genetically modified bovine growth hormone in kraft products makes products contaminated with pus and cause higher rates of cancer? somehow the word "modified" does not seem at all appropriate maybe something more along the lines of "contamination".

    • Kraft Stabs Monsanto in the Back--New Kraft rBGH-Free Cheese Will Hit Market in June.

Kraft aims to capitalize on consumer worries about food safety with a specialty product that will fetch a higher price than its mass-market cheeses. The new cheese reflects CEO Irene Rosenfeld's plan to rekindle growth with premium brands.

Northfield-based Kraft says it will start selling a line of cheese made with milk from cows free of rBST by June. Some consumer groups, citing scientific studies, say the production-boosting hormone can cause cancer, despite assurances from U.S. food regulators that it is saf

    • Petition reads:

"In a recent e-mail to an OCA activist, Kraft Foods admitted it uses genetically engineered bovine growth hormone, saying, "We are not rejecting milk from BGH/BST supplemented herds."

BGH/BST is the genetically modified Bovine Growth Hormone developed by Monsanto and now marketed by Eli Lilly. It was the first genetically modified organism to become part of the food supply.

It is well-known by federal regulators that GMO bovine growth hormone produces milk that is less nutritious, is contaminated with pus, and has elevated levels of IGF-1. Elevated levels of IGF-1 are correlated with increased rates of cancer.

Producers of GMO foods would prefer that their customers didn't know anything about genetically modified organisms and most people, about three quarters of US consumers, have no idea that their food has been genetically modified.

Kraft is one of the few companies to admit to using GMOs -- not that you'll find anything on Kraft Web sites or food packaging about it.

Let Kraft know you're joining a boycott of their brands, including the non-organic products of so-called "natural" brands (Back to Nature and Boca Foods, which proudly uses GMO soy), because you want to avoid GMOs!

Some of our readers have decided to take matters into their own hands. Since the Obama administration won't label GMOs, they've decided to do it ourselves. When they come across Kraft products, they are sticking an "Oh No! Is It GMO?" label on it.

Take a picture, download it to your computer and use the "See Me" function to attach your photo to your letter to Kraft. Your photos will also appear in our activist photo album."
