We are openly asking Russ Feingold to act as an advisor on congressional reform.
We are openly asking Matt Taibbi to serve as an advisor on financial reform.
We are asking for suggestions and recommendations of others to act as advisors on these same issues, plus on the military, the budget, entitlements and all primary issues which are seriously affecting the state of the union and the people therein.
All are welcome to participate in the reclaiming and reforming of our government. All are welcome to contribute ideas and suggestions which need acting upon, in order to facilitate achieving these objectives. We particularly need the participation of those who can literally help organize and perform, actions and events which contribute to reform. Those who are unable to participate in actual events, may be able to help coordinate them.
At this time, we recommend interacting with USUncut.org to help coordinate protests of those issues and concerns which currently contribute to the corruption of government and the country. We believe that the best next step is to ramp up, and maximize the benefit of, those protests that have already begun in Wisconsin and beyond, which can best be coordinated by utilizing the US Uncut site. We ask that you expand upon those protests by introducing other relevant issues to them, and address the broader issue, and not merely a symptom of it. Since there is no central planning to US Uncut, we encourage more communication on that issue herein.
At this time, we encourage protests at every state capitol where legislative attacks on the rights, liberties and freedoms of individuals is being waged. And that battle is being waged all around the country. We believe in perpetual protests, continuing until the issue being protested is resolved in the people's favor.
We also encourage the protest of every corporation, their subsidiaries and products, that are socially parasitic, destructive of the environment or are aggressively antisocial. Please post the corporations, products and services which you identify as such, herein.
We will continue to use this forum to communicate for now. However, this particular thread is meant more for action related communication, as opposed to pure philosophical expression. Thank you, from each of us who are committing ourselves to reclaiming the legacy that was bequeathed to us by our founding fathers, for any and all effort that you can contribute to our common cause.

The irony of the very wealthy paying fewer dollars to maintain our democracy confuses me at the same time it angers me: since the Supreme Court declared Corporations as people, the very wealthy continue to vote (2 or more times for each candidate) with their checkbooks through personal donations, corporate support, PAC support, etc---at the same time, many rarely vote personally because they don't want to "subject" themselves to the tacky inconvenience of jury duty. (Jury rolls come from voters registrations in many states)

what it will take is people organizing within their area, making it very very public and then figuring out the little stupid particulars of whose job is what. These things can only be spearheaded by willing leaders, you know the people that already dont have any time to do this. The point is that with this indentured servitude debt society they have clamped down on us, with the rise in all the prices of the most menial things they have clamped down on us, with the stagnation of wages they have clamped down on us, with the slow degradation of our basic American rights and Civil Liberties they have clamped down on us, with all of time being put towards survival and not living or thinking they have clamped down on us. This isnt just a class war, this is a war for the survival of the America that our forefathers envisioned when they fled that sort of domineering order, this is a struggle for the human race that we now see is spreading across the globe. A struggle that even now is being co-opted and hijacked for the purposes of control, we Must look to our brothers across the world and ask for assistance in this organization, not "terrorists" but peaceful and effective organizations. We need a uniting organization that can bring in the allies that we have within this country, already working nonprofits and volunteer foundations, the average citizen with the patriotism to stand up for what is right, and other affiliated teams of men, women, and teens (Id rather not have children at all involved as this would be a brainwashing claim from the crazy wingers). This Unified Front for Freedom, this March for the Reclamation of the Citizen, needs to be spearheaded by an individual who will laugh in the face of death because most certainly this individual will be faced with adversity thrown at him from these corporate controllers. I believe that is an open call for these individuals to present themselves, maybe even begin the organizing here and now on current. If this is the world in which you would like to live instead of the nightmare Orwellian dystopia then comment "HERE" and the state in which you live, you might be surprised at how many live next to you.

Aye, and right you are! SO right you are. Did you catch the news tonight how even a few congressman are coming clean with the facts that there is a coordinated effort by the corporate right to dominate the universe and oppress the people? IrishMan, the ball has been lobbed, the gauntlet thrown down, swords are drawn and the march is (already) on. But, we have, as you indicate, the task of recruitment, organizing and leading. But, everyone, and anyone, who dares or cares to, can be a leader!
Myself, I was all too aware of the physical danger of this effort, before beginning it. But, this is now structured as ANONYMOUS is structured, in a way, with many unidentified participants in many different venues, each one prepared to pick up where the last leader left off. In fact, there are multiple leaders everywhere, because this is not, a one prong approach. Everyone must participate in their own way and to the extent of their capacity. But we are all striving for the same general principals, and The Reform Movement is merely an umbrella term covering every group and every individual's efforts. However, my life was at risk long before I recognized that humanity is "on the mat", and I have no choice but to engage in this struggle. What good is living, if it's not enjoyable. While I recognize that we are already the oppressed, the depression of knowing that I would not do anything about it, while something could be done about it, would be a far worse fate to face, than death.
So, let's begin by spreading the word that the Revolution is on, and start, or join, even the smallest protest in your neighborhood. Try to connect that protest with another protest, or protest group, and continue scaling our numbers and efforts up. Right now we want a protest group in front of every capitol, or local government building, calling for action on each of issues concerning the people, which appear in the news every day, until we achieve all of the necessary reform.

As much as I love Russ Feingold and Matt Taibbi, the entrenched Powers that be have such a stranglehold on allowing any positive reform, reform with the current leadership in place, will never happen. The only way for the system to change is for the electorate to wake up and take the power back. How does that happen? Vote out the vast majority of these political whores who are bought and sold by the highest bidders of corporate America and replace them with true public servants. That is a tall order. Right now, we are going in the opposite direction. Citiznes United sanctions and institutionalizes pay for play in the political realm. There has to be a grassroots populism overtaking this country that we haven't seen in generations. What will it really take to spur this on? I wish I knew. Until this phenomenon of voters voting against their best interests is cured, we will never see the type of reform we need. Until this political system where the corporate media decides who will be our candidates and eventually who gets elected, this country will continue to fight for it's very existence.

There have been times in history when the participants of labeled efforts have overtaken and superseded their originator's intents and purposes. Why, the passions and purposes of the people participating was greater than any ulterior motives of the instigators. Hence, the expression: "It took on a life of it's own".
The electorate has already turned out and voted, overwhelmingly, for reform in 2008. Recent experience has evidenced that the election booth alone, will not achieve life essential reform. We are now struggling, not only for philosophy, we are struggling for our lives.
The line from Helen Reddy's hit, We Are Women: "hear us roar, in numbers too big to ignore", reverberate through my mind at this time. If the Egyptian people, "in numbers too big to ignore", can bring down a Mubarak, ..., then I am not willing to accept that the population of the United States, can not free government and ourselves from the strangle hold which the corporate right now has us all in. To do so, is to willingly place our collective head on the chopping block, and to pay the axe man to cut it off. "Just saying".
If Russ Feingold is of no greater benefit than to lead the way to "campaign finance reform"; of which he is already well acquainted with, then he is of invaluable service. Every action must begin with one single little step. Several little steps starts a movement well down it's path. Many little steps, by brave citizens taking individual responsibility for common good, have already been taken. If each one of us take only one little step, to contribute to the same common good, collectively, we will have taken a monumental leap forward! No one is being asked to carry the whole load. We are merely inviting everyone, and anyone, to take their own little step, the step which they can comfortably take, but which will keep the engine of reform burning and traveling down it's path to accomplishmet.

I don't disagree one bit with what you are saying, Common. I think we are pretty much saying the same thing in different ways. I do believe in the power of the people, but we have reached a point in our history where that power has to lead to tearing down the good ol' boys network of politicians who have seized control of this county's politics and create a massive makeover in the political arena. That will come from the grassroots, lile what is happening here in WI, this I will not dispute. What I was suggesting is that the Boners and McConnells and DeMints and Cantors of this political process will fight true reform tooth and nail and they need to be removed or at least marginalized in their ability to control the way government is run. And I don't let Harry Reid and his style of "Leadership" off the hook either. He is just as much part of the problem. We need to somehow seize control back from these corporate whores and once again have a government that is by the people for the people and of the people, not corporate shills.

Is it possible that we could do the same thing with our national representatives? And even if it takes more 'noise' than what is being raised right now, if we just keep 'nagging' about those elected legislators that are NOT listening to us I truly believe that in time it will work. I live in Nebraska and none of my national legislators listen to me -- I call every time a new shot is fired over the bough of the middle class and some lackey thanks me for my interest and my 'employees' go right ahead and vote THEIR interests instead of mine.

OH! Absolutely! Now I understand. And I can not agree with you more! Let's not forget, either, that those individuals draw much of their power from the corporate right's (money). No doubt that the corporate right may be willing to go down with their ships.
However, I wonder if in the case of public corporations, when boycotts of their every product; possibly worldwide, lowers their stock values and dividends, whether stockholders will vote to have the respective corporations continue their socially aggressive and destructive practices, and continue to fund the Boehner's in Congress. You see, I believe that the people alone, simply with the boycotting of a corporations products, will be able to bring these corporations to their knees. However, I am conservative in the original and true sense of the word. I believe in multi prong attacks. And I encourage the effort to fight the war that the corporate right has been silently waging on us, with every weapon available.
Can you count the ways in which we might expand our defense?

And grassroots efforts to replace those who are most unreceptive to our voices should be threatened with removal when these decisions have such cataclysmic impacts on our lives. These WI Reps were not given a mandate to wreak such havoc on the middle class. If they will not listen to reason, any elected official should face dire circumstances. This is what Democracy allows.

Common, your last point is worth contemplating. We need to develope as many forms of opposittion as we can to this plutocratic takeover. Shaming them is obviously is not an option because they do not shame. But corporations don't appreciate bad PR and the alrenative media needs to expose as many of their misdeeds as possible to contribute to their finanacial downfall.

Yes, yes, yes! I dare you, take the next step!. An organized effort to recall every senator and representative that is bought and paid for, should be identified, with an explanation and example shown of what they have consistently done which is for the benefit of corporations and wealth, without helping the people, or actually harming us, should be actually be drawn up and included in an online "Action Plan", or "Action Guide", of The Reform Revolution. We need to scout around on here and ferret out those who might have both the ability, time and inclination to start enumerating and diagramming our issues and our plans to address them. Laying out the positions and voting records of all serving legislators and encouraging recalls where possible, is a very good step.
In addition, we need to list all of the issue areas in which we can act on. For instance,
Campaign Finance Reform
Recalls of Legislative Enemies of The People
and so on. everyone can contribute here, with the group establishing the priority of listing.

We need to be in front of every office, store, gas station, factory, ..., which can be identified as the enemy of the people. When we show them for what they truly are, parasitic enemies of the people, others WILL begin to catch on and act. When these protests lower the profit margins, people will start dumping the stock, and voting the directors out, and just maybe, insist on the institution of socially friendly and responsible practices; which includes paying taxes!

If I come up with a "I'm mad as hell at my elected employees for ignoring me and I'm not gonna take it anymore" statement and post it every morning on my status, maybe people will start agreeing with me. Ooh, and I almost forgot, I joined the 'coffee club' and they have a facebook page -- might try getting some kind attention for 'project mayhem' from them ...

Sign me up, add me to whatever lists you need filled. Drop me a direct mail through this site and I will gladly provide contact information and details regarding my skill set and experiences. I have been thinking along this same trajectory for some time now, but due to family responsibities I have not had the time nor resources to act as an organizer for such an endeavor, but I do certainly have a few hours daily that would be better used through this effort.
However, I have some qualms about focusing this effort through usuncut.org for the time being, I love what the people of that site are doing, but as yet are exrtemely miopic, on thier list of corporate tax dodger targets there is ONLY Bank of America. Thier opening homepage does not give clear indication of what the group is or what thier goals are, Thier "about" page leaves something to be desired in the way of fire and limiting rhetoric, despite there being a very nice "know your rights" item on the "How To" page a few too many things in the site rely heavily on video to relay information and instruction, and not all americans have modern broadband connections making video unviable... In short you or someone needs to launch a site that is more focused on solid content with complete disclosure from the opening page, nothing but love for the people and purpose at "uncut" but this calls for more then a group that seems targeted specifically at BoA.

RIGHT ON! And thank you for the observation and analysis. Have you attempted to communicate these issues to US Uncut? It might be worth a try to do so and expand on their efforts. Only because they do have some momentum on their side, and we aspire to identify the common purpose of individual reform efforts, and demonstrate that the ultimate purpose and goal is larger than any single group.
But, you are correct on your ultimate position, that we need a well organized site through which we can communicate and organize our umbrella efforts. While I may be long on recognizing the threats to us, I am short on IT/tech ability. It is well worth checking Figgdimension's site out, because it is extremely well organized, content rich and he is a workhorse of the issues which concern us. Whether he can help facilitate our need or not, is a question only he can answer. But I read below that he encourages your visit to his site. There, you can confer directly with him. We don need a master site through which we can interact with efforts such as; MoveOn.org, CommonCause.org, USUncut.org, ProgressiveUnited.org and others. Remember, each tiny individual step, is one more log on the fire, fueling reform.

The WALLSTREET end game is to try to provoke major unrest in the US that will lead to the declaration of martial law followed by the use of mercenary armies to enforce fascist rule there.

Of course, I'm all for reform. I've been active in resisting wars and human and resource exploitation since I could stand and make my voice heard, just as thousands of you have.
Some minor progress has been made while the vast overall destruction of lives and living systems has continued and accelerated.
The only thing that gave the machine pause was an economic hick-up in it's throat when the rampant greed of some of the thieves ran ahead of the machine.
You noticed that because many of you are out of work and lost your homes.
It's the system itself that is the problem.
If you don't walk away from it and let it fall, you'll just be puled back under the wheels when it gets up to speed again.
I'm sorry to be so blunt about this, but just linking to a web site (which as noted, isn't even done properly and leads nowhere) and saying hurray for our side, isn't going to cut it.
Leave the machine. Consciously untangle yourself from it's clutches.

I agree that we need to tackle the corporate machine in the gut. Denying the corporate oligarchs their profits by boycotting them and their products will constitute one attack upon them. Little efforts like mimimizing our consumptions of big agribusiness production like wheat, corn and soybeans will cut into their profits. But I do not understand how you mean for us to totally disconnect and still live.
As for logging onto a site and expecting reform, no one is suggesting that reform is that simple. But, logging onto a site which provides masses of people the information they need to participate in those efforts and actions, that may encourage or force reform, is itself reforming. It is communication which enables and empowers the collective, WE, to take the actions which will produce reform. Don't forget the facebook/twitter revolutions in the Middle East.

If you're paying big fees every month for a media gatekeeper to allow you to watch TV, or get on the internet, you might want to even reconsider that. There are a hundred ways that each one of us could, if we thought about it, start to take the tentacles off us.
True, it's not as easy as clicking a switch, and it does take time. I know we don't eat in the long run, and that's not a small problem, but don't you think we can make some significant changes in a year or two or a decade, or a lifetime? We have to start somewhere. Today is a good a day as any other.
If you are in the army, start thinking for once about what really serves your own interests of that of your families, and think about turning the guns around.The real enemy isn't in Afghanistan or Iraq or many other places around the globe that our empire sends you.
If you're in the police think about the amount of time you spend responding to security alarms in the gated end of town and how much time you spend rousting the poor for social crimes kept in place by the rich who can afford real privacy and wall-to-wall lawyers, and aren't affected by them.
If you work hour to hour with a shovel, do good work and try to connect with the conscious ones around you and build a resistant and reliable community.
That last part is the hardest, I think.
