They didn't even mention dense kinetic weapons 'launched" ( more like PUSHED ) down from orbit. Those will be in play within this century.

Is there an impending space invasion coming? Who the f**k are we fighting with this crap? Does having these weapons mean we have to continue to make up Wars so we can use our new toys? Did the article mention price tags I must have missed it, but I’m guessing a trillion dollars. Will these weapons create jobs? What happens if the onboard CPU is hacked and retargeted toward us? How much money went down the drain wasted on nuclear weapons which we will never use? Madness undeterred I guess, well at least the defense contractor will get paid. How about they create a smart gun that shoots people with knowledge and logic?

You know what's funny is that I was just reading an article that estimated the real military budget of 2011 as 1.2 trillion dollars, so you probably guessed right.
Also, you can say it - fuck.

If it causes euphoria can it really be called a weapon? More like a party beam.

Weapons of the future? These are weapons of now. Force lightning is an example of a future weapon.

The article fails to mention rail guns or electrically fired guns either. That's up and coming technology for the navy. And yet it includes 50 year old tech such as nuclear missiles just because they haven't yet been used in war. That's idiotic reasoning; There is almost no new nuclear missile tech, generations of nuclear missiles have been developed and gone on into obsolescence one after another.

you wouldnt think a 70's nuke was obsolete if it detonated in your home city.

other stuff will come before then, plasma guns, lasers that are man-portable, particle beam cannons (lightning guns), sonic weapons, etc. lightsabers are pretty much a dream. chainswords and vibroblades will show up long before laser swords ever will.
