I used to spend a lot of time straightening out people's effed up views on reality on current. I've been around long enough to witness infamous current spammers and their spam. (who can forget 'a playstation costs more than an AK chopper') But now it's my turn for spamming and whoring my own content.
I'm in the Music Industry Arts program at Algonquin College and we've been asked to blog 2 paragraphs on the music industry and related topics as part of an assignment for entertainment marketing.
So here it is, I encourage you to check it out and argue with me: http://hvyhnds.blogspot.com/2011/03/state-of-music-industry.html
Enjoy!

I agree, mostly. From my perspective, over 60 years, the music "industry" has always been about money.

Well stated. I believe there was a day when the music industry gave us a hope that we could come together to listen to the best music our nation had to offer. Today, the music industry is phony, and it serves to limit and direct us to the music that the industry wants to sell. The sooner the failure, the better.
