net neutrality legislation and has found a familiar name that could be
orchestrating the opposition. That man is Ralph Reed - better known for his
association with criminal lobbyist Jack Abramoff. So how is Ralph Reed

Ralphie Reed? The slime-ball who was the first president of the Christian Coalition?
Here's one of his more smug quotes:
"“The whole 'right to choose' thing -- that is sooo pre-right-wing-takeover!” --Ralph Reed, First Christian Coalition President,
loser in the election for GOPer nominee for Georgia's Lt. Gov (2006),
Abramahoff toady involved in the Indian gambling scandal, Republican nomination for the office of Lieutenant Governor of Georgia but lost the primary election on July 18, 2006, after the most powerful GOPers in Congress called for him to leave the race because of his ties to Abramahoff and his scandals. Here's one of my favorite nanny-nanny-poo-poo quotes from one of Reed's fellow conservatives about his loss in the Lt. Gov. race:
"He got nailed for being a phony."
LOLOLOL. Gotta hand it to the GOPers....they can sure do that sound-byte quoteable thing well. Eight syllables that just said it all.

That slimeball Ralph Reed has his hands in this. That doesn't suprise me one bit. Who kept Reed out of prison? Bush did. Abramoff was the scapegoat. Just like Bernie Maddoff was the scapegoat for Wall Street while the bigger crooks walked. Lee Fang rocks!

I saw a headline this morning that to write the net neutrality rules, the FCC invited in 5 leftist groups to get them to help craft it. I didn't read the article, but I hope it is not so.

The self labeled "conservative" non-profit, Judicial Watch filed a FOIA request on the FCC's crafting of it's net neutrality rules. In the documents were correspondence between the FCC and different advocacy groups in which the advocacy groups seem to be influencing and at times, writing, policy. I am still reading through some of the docs. Here is the link to a news story about it. Below that is the link to judicial watch's site which has a link to all the documents released under the FOIA at the bottom of their page, in case anybody wants to check that out.

We all remember JW was one of the Richard Mellon Scaife-funded groups that hounded Clinton....
He was in a pickle when GWBush won the election because JW had been totally right-winger, and had made the majority of his money from JW by doing Scaife's bidding against Clinton.
Now, with a GOPer in the Oval Office, what was Klayman to do?
Why, he tried to reinvent himself, just like Arianna Huffington reinvented herself after GWBush became president.
Didn't work so good for Larry.

Why cannot the internet just be left as is, why must there always be some grand struggle? We have the right to go where we wish and I pay for a solid connection, thats it. The massive invasion of privacy that this nation is enduring is just ridiculous, it all started with the patriot act and now every part of my life is subject to someones something. Bastards!

To many political and corporate entities, the reason why the internet cannot be left as it is has to do with precisely what it is. The internet is a medium in which information is difficult to control. If they cannot effectively restrict or control it, then it is a wild card for them. It is true that the internet might actually benefit them more than it hurts them, but there is no certainty one way or the other because information on the internet can become viral so easily.

It just makes me yearn for the days when the men and women of this nation were driven by ideals of liberty, instead of the ideals of today. Today the people of this nation are driven by greed, they do not know what it is to be bound so they do not appreciate what it is to be free and they spend their days trying to bind what ought not be bound. There is one truth of power however, and that truth is that power destroys everything it touches, even those who claim to wield it. There will come a time when those who would control us go to far and the people will no longer brook their want and need for control. The question is when will that time come, and how much blood will be shed?

How much bloodshed it costs will depend on both parties involved, more specifically, how much either is willing to tolerate before yielding, if one or the other is not destroyed by the conflict.

War destroys both sides, its just a question of who is left standing. But if this nation is brought to revolution we will all be destroyed no matter with whom we side, thats not to say we should refuse to fight if the time comes, only that we must know the consequences will be death for us all.

1. Because there is potential money to be made which cannot be made because certain rules are not in effect.
2. Because the internet, as it is now, is a big threat to the fascist oligarchy that our country has become.
