The bible was used as justification for the inquisition, for attacking and stealing America from the native people, an well as slavery. Sounds like the Bible is just a document used to justify the perpetration of any ill will you may have and keep a clear conscience because you can then say GOD SAID IT'S OK

Bishop Tutu said that God speaks through the Bible to his people in the idiom of their time. My words: To apply the idiom of 500 B.C. to the year 2011, is misinformed. To become self righteous and indignant to those who understand otherwise, is bigoted and shows a great ignorance of God.

I saw a very informative show on the Discovery Channel the other day called, "How Beer Saved the World". I just knew that liquid bread was the elixir of life!
The greatest invention of all time was...beer.
Sorry for getting a little off-subject, folks, but perhaps if those swimming pools were filled with beer, we'd all get along a lot better!

Listen, I'll be honest with you: You couldn't get me near a public swimming pool there is so much bacteria, fecal matter, and urine in all of them that I'd rather take my chances unprotected in the CDC labs.
"Health effects of swimming pool pollutants
Swimmers are susceptive to pathogenic microorganisms in swimming pool water. As a result of cooling and water uptake, the resistance of the mucous membranes of swimmers can weaken, causing them to become more susceptive to pathogens in swimming pool water and air, and even to pathogens that are present in their own bodies. Microorganisms that enter the water through excretion by swimmers can cause a large variety of conditions. Most pathogenic microorganisms cause diarrhoea or skin rashes. Certain microorganisms can cause serious symptoms, such as paralysis, brain inflammation, heart inflammation, jaundice, fevers, vomiting, diarrhoea and respirational or eye infections.
Pathogenic mciroorganisms that can be found in swimming pool water are bacteria, viruses and parasitic protozoa. Young children, elderly people and people with damaged immune systems are more susceptive to infections caused by these species and will fall ill more easily. People that have an untreated form of cancer may also suffer from lower resistance to waterborne diseases."Read more: http://www.lenntech.com/processes/disinfection/swimming-pool-/swimming-pool-poll...
Another article:
"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) classifies pool-related infections and diseases under the term recreation water illness (RWI). The most common forms of RWI are caused by swimmers inhaling bacteria from pool water that has not been properly sanitized through upkeep with chemicals. According to a study by the CDC, the most common hazardous materials in public pool water were fecal matter and urine, both of which can reduce the level of chlorine in a pool and support the growth of harmful bacteria."

I beg to differ.
The criteria for a pedophile is not whether they're religious, gay or straight. It's their innate desire for children and not adults that gratify their sexual desires. Their sexual orientation determines whether they are attracted to boys or girls. Unlike a lightswitch, sexual orientation is not a conscious choice that can be voluntarily turned on or off. Although, we can choose to act upon sexual desires or not.
Gay or straight, to me, would indicate a desire for sexual gratification with an adult. More than likely, someone nearer one's own age.
As a general rule.

To make the statement that an inordinate number of priests are pedophiles would be inaccurate. I do believe that the percentage of pedophiles would be commensurate to any group of individuals who make up the general population. Do you view scoutmasters in that same light? Sports coaches? That would be absurd, wouldn't it?
Sensationalism sells newspapers and attracts viewers to the MSM. If there was money to be made for being truthful and or factual, we would be an educated population. Sadly, that's not the world in which we live.

This is real simple. If its a government run public facility then it must obey the law. Not the fictional antiquated misinterpreted fairyland "law" of the ignorant but real man made democratic law. Any employee who either breaks that law or imposes any made up laws of there own should be removed from their job and the premises immediatley and possible fined. People need to learn that if they cannot learn how to be tolerant of people who are different that it is they that should be punished.

When I was in school, in Louisville area, in the 60s, I had a biology teacher who told us the first day of school that "I'm from Hazard, Kentucky...I would just as soon kill you as look at you". She meant it too. One day a football player made a smart comment about her and she picked up the history book, threw it across the room at him, hit him in the head and knocked him out of his desk. So, take the author's advice...don't go anywhere near Hazard. lol

Okay...so it was a interesting story....I hadn't heard of this town so remotely cut off from the rest of the US population for a period of 100 years.
So what's the deal? If a gay man goes in the water...what happens to him? It has to be the chlorine...right? Because all of the gay people at work...they bathe...they bathe a lot. In fact, if I called them fastidious about their hygiene...it would be an understatement.
So it's something in the chlorine, right?
