The creators of MySpace don't even use MySpace

Poor old MySpace, no one under the age of 20 even knows what it is and now it's being is shunned even by its parents. Founder Tom Anderson hasn't updated his status in more than a year, while founder Chris DeWolfe doesn't say much at all during his rare visits. Forget finding a buyer for this waste of space; MySpace would have trouble just getting adopted.

    • long term wise myspace does have a chance to make more then facebook simply because facebook owns nothing. the ads you see on myspace are for new fox movies new fox shows ect ect. facebook helps market those movies and shows but the ones that profit most are the ones that own the company.

the problem with myspace is the age groups of its users its all over the place right now and creats a marketing market issue. i do think myspace owners know what they are doing and could use this bad facebook press to help them.

facts are that myspace is still one of the top websites in the world coming in at around 28th
      http://siteanalytics.compete.com/myspace.com

but yea this year they redid there stuff and really f#@$@ed up with how it was done.. at the start of this year they getting like 80million monthly people visitors and now they get around half that 30million

they need to hire a tech god that knows why its the way it is what made myspace big what made facebook and how to regain that.

i still think most do not know why myspace and facebook made it with out knowing how can you maintain. and move on to bigger better things.

    • I'll buy it for $19.95.
It is a nice domain name at least, with a high SEO.

There are so many things mySpace could have done to survive.

While FaceBook was aiming for all markets, mySpace could have picked one market segment and targeted it.

For a time, it was popular with independent musicians- they could have become a music-specific community, with features for composers to connect to lyricists, band members to collaborate, etc.

Or, they could have specifically targeted little kids, and become a "safe" community for people under 13, who are not allowed to use Facebook.

    • Seven years ago, myspace was all everyone would talk about (amongst our adolescent selves at the time). Then it felt like facebook just popped up outta nowhere. And then that 2-hr feature length ad came out in the theaters... Of course I accepted it even more due to its awesome OST.
