Shown off last March at the Geneva Motor Show, the Scion iQ had been put on indefinite hold while factory production in the carmaker's disaster-stricken homeland ramped back up to speed. With all signs now set to go, the only red-light still lingering is the micro-subcompact's undisclosed MSRP. Considering the recent bankruptcy of Norwegian Think's EV offering, we're glad to see Toyota looking out for its little guy.

This will be the first full production EV in America. I wouldn't mind taking a test drive. I think it needs better range but it's a start.

Electric cars that have to be plugged in to recharge are not going to help much, we need cars that can be charged by Solar. We need the Power Co's out of the picture.

There are already solar collection systems that allow you to convert solar energy into usable electricity to charge these cars with. It would just take some homegrown engineering to make it happen.

I saw where some State was installing some Solar charging stations. How long would it take? In Yemen they have been in gas lines for 10 days, I'm sure it wouldn't take that long.

Only 65 miles per charge.... (sigh). Glad toyota getting in the game, though. The more electric cars, the better.

I think if we get that electric train up and running throughout America, might not need to go more than 65 miles. By we, I mean as tax payers.

I would love to see a bunch of these around. Then we can produce more serious cars with better range. Baby steps...

Yesterday I saw a charging station in a public parking garage.
We need more of these in order to make EV work.Exciting.
