Pentagon claims theft of 24,000 files in hacker attack

The Pentagon has claimed it has suffered one of the largest-ever hacker attacks, with 24,000 sensitive defense files stolen.

The deputy secretary of defense, William Lynn, said on Thursday that all the data was taken in a single intrusion in March.
