I can totally relate to what Cenk said, "I'll take a win any way I can get it."

    • Every little bit helps,....except when you don't want the little bits,....then I suppose every little bit you DON'T get helps . . . .

      ( sort of a "stop gap" measure. ) - heh -

    • this gal speculated on what incentivized congress to pass this new bill. Actually, it had nothing to do with congress - the damned republicans would have dumped this immediately.
This is part of a rule issued by the department of Health and Human Services. There are other common sense requirements included in this new rule.
Coverage with no copays for the morning-after pill is likely to become the most controversial part of the change. The FDA classifies Plan B and Ella as birth control, but some religious conservatives see the morning-after drugs as abortion drugs. Typical conservative lies - these drugs will NOT eliminate a pregnancy, as clearly stated on the web page for Plan B:
"Plan B One-Step™ is your backup plan--emergency contraception in just one pill. The sooner you take it, the better it works. When taken as directed--within 72 hours (3 days) after contraceptive failure or unprotected sex--approximately 7 out of 8 women who would have gotten pregnant will not become pregnant after taking Plan B One-Step™."

(The rules HHS do NOT require coverage of RU-486 and other drugs to chemically induce an abortion)

      Other preventive services covered include:

_At least one "well-woman" preventive care visit annually.

      _Screening for diabetes during pregnancy.

_Screening for the virus that causes cervical cancer for women 30 and older.

_Annual HIV counseling and screening for sexually active women.

_Screening for and counseling about domestic violence.

_Annual counseling on sexually transmitted infections for sexually active women.

_Support for breast feeding mothers, including the cost of renting pumps.

    • Hopefully before we get to 10 billion + world gov can come together and agree on people only having kids every other year, or something, especially those in the east

    • Kewl. Too bad I don't need baby repellent anymore. :)

I am amazed in this misogynist, "women should be pregnant slaves" environment that this actually passed. I guess everyone was busy watching the bullshit storm around the phony debt ceiling crisis to stop a policy that actually makes sense.
