We need to stop sucking this planet dry and drilling it to death to appease our greed and overconsumption. What else can we expect as a result of our behavior?

This morning the news said gas pump prices now up $1 over last year even though US fuel consumption is down, overseas is up. This is truly CRUNCH TIME FOR ALL AMERICANS. No jobs AND no money for fuel = America is impaled on a zero sum scimitar to the gut.
Plus no Savings in banks. Plus homeless people dying in wooded areas. Plus whole families LIVING in homeless shelters with little children. And a bug infestation & epidemic.
America is No More.

You might could argue from Indonesia up to Japan and on to Alaska. If they're not careful some new seams of Gold might pop out.

Do not let your heart be troubled a carpenter's son foretold it would happen. And then he said it was just pangs of distress. Since he was right about the 1st part we can have faith he was right the 2nd part also. Ecclesiastes 1 v 4 => "the earth abideth forever". Matthew 5 v 5 Meek inherit it. Matthew 19 v 28 a re-creation event is to happen. Revelation 21 v 1-4 no more tears, death mourning and former things have all passed away.
Soon.
IRS no more. Terrorism no more. Wars (and crude oil) all stopped. Weapons of War turned into useful tools or done away with altogether. No one takes a person's house from them. Abundant electricity, clean potable drinking water. No more nuclear radiation. The blind, the crippled and the sick healed, perfect health that Adam & Jesus both had. All promised for those who love God and His Ways.
A clean pristine planet restored, drink water from rivers like fountains.

Doesn't mean we stop moving. If I had a few bucks I'd find the right person to make the new injector plug to replace the 302's sparkplugs, be driving around using steam, the water having passed through the injector/superheaters.
How convenient the economy died before that could happen eh?

It will be interesting to know if they also happened at the same 22 miles depth. That could indicate some incredible damage going on.

Well that's how many notable earthquakes in the past month? Including 2 on the east coast, one before and one just after or during the hurricane....
Monumental earth changes on the way? A sign of things to come?
Idk, but with the recent quakes I wouldn't be surprised... Throw in a prophecy from just about every culture that ever existed.... Let's just hope one of the comets, or that "rogue planet" all the "conspiracy theorists" are warning about don't actually come along and distort our gravity field very much or we could be in for some trouble......

You're right. It is amazing how prophecies from so many cultures all over the planet are converging the same time, each in their own special ways. Even Nostradamus.
But of course you're way too smart to be taken in.

Apparently USGS just downgraded it to a 6.8, can't have these EQ's look to serious can we? There have also been 4.5, 4.5, 4.8, 4.3 at the same location recently.

Luckily this was not in a densely populated area. The Ring of Fire is very active.
"A strong 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Alaska's Aleutian Islands early Friday, triggering a tsunami warning for the remote region that was later lifted, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The underwater quake occurred at 1:55 am (1055 GMT) some 80 miles (130 kilometers) from the town of Dutch Harbor, one of several spots in the Pacific island chain that host commercial fishing operations.
USGS initially put the magnitude of the quake at 7.1 but later downgraded it to 6.8. The quake occurred at a depth of 22 miles.
The epicenter was some 1,000 miles from the state's largest city Anchorage, USGS added. There were no immediate reports of damage.
"It's a very remote part of Alaska," and few people would have felt the quake, USGS seismologist Jessica Sigala told AFP.
An aftershock of magnitude 4.5 hit the region about half an hour later.
The West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center posted a tsunami warning for parts of coastal Alaska, but cancelled it about an hour after the quake.
The Aleutian Islands sit on the Pacific Ring of Fire, a horseshoe-shaped seismic belt some 25,000 miles long where the majority of the world's earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur.
