    • I don't watch the news on TV. I just listen to NPR. Everything else is garbage as far as I'm concerned. Also, if I could delete FOX from my TV listings (all of them! There are several...) I would.

All I can say to y'all is, make sure you VOTE! Not only with your words, but also with your ballot.

    • I've been asking the same thing about c u r r e n t.....

Actually they ignore (almost) everything about everything but tea-party, or republican bashing. It's like; "Hey they bash themselves, quit validating them." & it's not totally ignore other stuff, it's just that's what sits at the top of the front page longest...

Meanwhile both parties are are sneaking in new legislation not necessarily through the back door, but legislation allowing them to physically search your "back-door" at any given time, for any given reason, while bombing some starving militants overseas and blaming them for the reason the government needs it's head up your ass...

But hey suits yourselves... Says something about the the socioeconomic conditions of the people paying dumb-shit so much attention though... Because if your biggest concern is the shit that falls out of Sally Kern's mouth, you obviously aren't living in the same world I am.... Probably buy off that airport screener anyway, and the cop, and your stock portfolio is pretty stable... So what are a few more oppressive laws, or bombing some brown skinned people you'll never see?

    • Anyone here want to help organize an email campaign to the MSM about this disparity in coverage? She's exactly right about the failure of the MSM to cover anything important to the majority of Americans. For example, I'd like to see Bernie Sanders on the Sunday morning talk shows. Don't you folks think John McCain is on Meet the Press waaaay too often? Almost anytime you hear anything that might be of interest in the news, its Tea Bagger, Tea Bagger, Tea Bagger. How about some balance? So how about it folks?

    • "Why does MSM ignore Wall Street protests, Tar Sands arrests, yet covers everything Tea Party?"

Because the teabaggers are witless puppets for the corporate elite.

    • The Amerikan Corporate media is good at covering the news that their corporate masters tell them to cover and filling the rest of the space in with fluff. I get my news on Amerika from Canada and the UK where the corporate filters are removed.

    • Because MSM is just doing what they are told. Just like the military, just like corporate America. The AP sent them all the same email telling them what they were allowed to talk about.
All we can do is stop watching/listening to MSM, and encourage everyone we know to do the same.

    • If it wasn't for cell phone video and internet the truth, in some instances, wouldn't even be seen or known. I view the Mainstream Media as a lapdog, zero credibility for me as a news source.

Because they're the FOX News of Russia as far as I'm concerned.

Also, domestic press is never as good as foreign press when it comes to internal bullshit.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who seems to be aware of that. People here seem to ignore the fact that Russia Today is owned by the Kremlin in order to throw propaganda out about how shitty the US is and then turn around and say, "oh, look how great Russia is". I mean they do say things that are true but with such a twist towards propagating it.

    • Violence erupted in Zuccotti Park yesterday morning as Occupy Wall Street protesters clashed with police on day four of their stakeout.

Seven people were arrested in two incidents, the police said. One protester lost a tooth during the clash, protester Patrick Bruner said. Another protester suffered a gash to the leg. Police acknowledged that the protester did have a cut on his leg, but he refused treatment, said Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Browne.

“There was a lot of shouting,” said Robert Grodt, 24, of California, a protester who witnessed the arrests. “They pushed their way into the crowd — eight cops just piled on this one kid. He couldn’t move.”

YouTube videos of the scuffle showed police officers dragging one person across the sidewalk, making several arrests.

Justin Wedes, 25, from Brooklyn, said he was arrested while using a bullhorn. He was held for several hours and released after being issued a ticket for not having a permit to use the device.

“We intend to remain always peaceful,” he told Metro upon returning to the park after his release.

An officer on duty at the park who witnessed the incidents said there were no immediate plans to clear the area of the protesters. He also said police used “as little force as was necessary” during the arrests.

“Police often arrest first and find reasons later,” said attorney Samuel Cohen, who is representing the group and filing an injunction on their behalf to protect their stay in the park.
