Have you seen the sun lately? No, no, don't look right at it with your eyes. Ouch. I'm not asking about the weather, either, or at least Earth's weather. The sun itself is a sight to behold right now, and it is creating some fascinating space weather as well.

Yes I have and it's an awesome sight!
Did Mesoamericans calculate this thousands of years ago in their calenders?
I look at the Aztec Sun Disc and clearly see the sungod sticking his tongue out at us.
Not that I'm superstitious but the 12/21/12 happens to occur at the peak of the biggest solar maximum in 120 some years.
