Also don't wonder why Al Gore, the duly elected president of this country in 2000 was not allowed to serve his term. He would not have engaged this agenda, so he too had to be kept from serving the people. Wonder why as well there was such a concerted media attack on him and still is? This had all been planned and it appears the current administration is following through with it. And that goes all the way in my view to the OWS protests which are being silenced now. It is the OILIGARCHY which has such a chokehold on this world that is also behind this. You know, the BP that has just been given permission to once again drill and despoil the Gulf, as well as Shell which is going to be allowed to now despoil the Arctic. Why do you think these companies are never truly held responsible for their crimes and are just allowed to keep going no matter what? In my view nothing will truly change in this world or country until the OILIGARCHY is brought down and we won't do that by continuing to drive our cars everywhere we go and continuing to vote for propped up candidates who approve drilling and pipelines on any side.
This is also why you see no real movement regarding climate change in the U.S. government nor any aggressive move to renewable energy (also mentioned in the video) that could have been accomplished already if this system wasn't rotten to its core. So for those as well who think climate change is some hoax while decrying PNAC, you actually help them in their work. It is not renewable energy and holding these corporations part of this plan accountable that will break this economy, it is the WARS already being fought to accomodate THEIR GREED that have already brought down the world economies.
So listen to this video as it lays out some truth about more than likely why our entire voting system in America was subverted in 2000 as the first step to this takeover and domination of the world oil markets and other resources at any cost and then go from there connecting the dots. You may well be totally surprised at the fact that those you think are on your side don't really care about you in comparison to the true prize they think they are getting at the expense of our planet.
The Bush clan and those who enable them are evil personified and may I say traitors to this country and they still walk free while we were denied a truly good president. Ask how that can happen in a country that is a "democratic republic" and supposedly on the side of truth, justice and the law. And don't wonder why some of us have lost complete faith in both parties. One party that subverts and the other that enables it. Both the same in my book.
________
From the video:
Established in the spring of 1997 and funded largely by the energy and arms industries, the Project for the New American Century was founded as the neoconservative think tank whose stated goal was to usher in a "new American century".
Having won the cold war and no military threat to speak of, this group of ideologues created a blueprint for the future whose agenda was to capitalize upon our surplus of military forces and funds and forcing American hegemony and corporate privatization throughout the world.
Their goals:
1) Increase an already enormous military budget at the expense of domestic social programs
2) Toppling of regimes resistant to our corporate interests
3) Forcing democracy at the barrel of a gun in regions that have no history of the democratic process
4) Replacing the UN's role of preserving and extending international order

"By Neil Mackay
15 September 2002: A SECRET blueprint for US global domination reveals that President Bush and his cabinet were planning a premeditated attack on Iraq to secure 'regime change' even before he took power in January 2001.The blueprint, uncovered by the Sunday Herald, for the creation of a 'global Pax Americana' was drawn up for Dick Cheney (now vice- president), Donald Rumsfeld (defence secretary), Paul Wolfowitz (Rumsfeld's deputy), George W Bush's younger brother Jeb and Lewis Libby (Cheney's chief of staff). The document, entitled Rebuilding America's Defences: Strategies, Forces And Resources For A New Century, was written in September 2000 by the neo-conservative think-tank Project for the New American Century (PNAC).
The plan shows Bush's cabinet intended to take military control of the Gulf region whether or not Saddam Hussein was in power. It says: 'The United States has for decades sought to play a more permanent role in Gulf regional security. While the unresolved conflict with Iraq provides the immediate justification, the need for a substantial American force presence in the Gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein.'
The PNAC document supports a 'blueprint for maintaining global US pre-eminence, precluding the rise of a great power rival, and shaping the international security order in line with American principles and interests'.
This 'American grand strategy' must be advanced for 'as far into the future as possible', the report says. It also calls for the US to 'fight and decisively win multiple, simultaneous major theatre wars' as a 'core mission'.
The report describes American armed forces abroad as 'the cavalry on the new American frontier'. The PNAC blueprint supports an earlier document written by Wolfowitz and Libby that said the US must 'discourage advanced industrial nations from challenging our leadership or even aspiring to a larger regional or global role'.
The PNAC report also:
l refers to key allies such as the UK as 'the most effective and efficient means of exercising American global leadership';
l describes peace-keeping missions as 'demanding American political leadership rather than that of the United Nations';
l reveals worries in the administration that Europe could rival the USA;
l says 'even should Saddam pass from the scene' bases in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait will remain permanently -- despite domestic opposition in the Gulf regimes to the stationing of US troops -- as 'Iran may well prove as large a threat to US interests as Iraq has';
l spotlights China for 'regime change' saying 'it is time to increase the presence of American forces in southeast Asia'. This, it says, may lead to 'American and allied power providing the spur to the process of democratisation in China';
l calls for the creation of 'US Space Forces', to dominate space, and the total control of cyberspace to prevent 'enemies' using the internet against the US;
l hints that, despite threatening war against Iraq for developing weapons of mass destruction, the US may consider developing biological weapons -- which the nation has banned -- in decades to come. It says: 'New methods of attack -- electronic, 'non-lethal', biological -- will be more widely available ... combat likely will take place in new dimensions, in space, cyberspace, and perhaps the world of microbes ... advanced forms of biological warfare that can 'target' specific genotypes may transform biological warfare from the realm of terror to a politically useful tool';
l and pinpoints North Korea, Libya, Syria and Iran as dangerous regimes and says their existence justifies the creation of a 'world-wide command-and-control system'.
Tam Dalyell, the Labour MP, father of the House of Commons and one of the leading rebel voices against war with Iraq, said: 'This is garbage from right-wing think-tanks stuffed with chicken-hawks -- men who have never seen the horror of war but are in love with the idea of war. Men like Cheney, who were draft-dodgers in the Vietnam war.
'This is a blueprint for US world domination -- a new world order of their making. These are the thought processes of fantasist Americans who want to control the world. I am appalled that a British Labour Prime Minister should have got into bed with a crew which has this moral standing."

So once again the point being, regardless of who the other candidate was in 2000, they could not be allowed to serve if elected if someone who would not go along with this because this plan was to be instituted in violation of our constitution and international law as quickly as that "New Pearl Harbor" could happen. Remember, Bush also called it the "axis of evil." But then, those who belong to secret societies have no other oaths but to those societies.These are not people you want running your country. And this is also now why I think we see involvement in Africa as well... because of China (particularly Sudan) which was also mentioned here. We are already in World War 3, a Resource War, only it is being fought in a way where the people will not either know or believe it is happening and I do believe co-opting peoples' movements in these countries with resources and using humanitarian disasters as cover is also happening. Look at Somalia. Libya also has the greatest supply of oil in Africa and the Nubian Aquifer which are now seen as resources essential to the continued "interest of America". Another catchphrase used to validate illegal pre-emptive war. And now that this is the way it is with our foreign policy I don't look for Obama or any other president to change it... they won't get in the White House unless they agree to this. - 7 months ago

Sorry if I do not respond to some comments here.This is the first time I have been able to make a comment on the site for a few hours now. For some reason I can do everything but reply now and have also not been able to comment until now. Hopefully it is just a temporary glitch. Anyway, thank you for the comments and I agree about ALEC. That is also something tied to Citizens United and the USSC decision on it (another corrupted organization that sided with this agenda 11 yrs ago by stating to continue counting valid American votes would cause "irreparable harm" to -Bush- ,not the American people or our Constitution, but -Bush- (stated by Scalia).) And if anyone else remembers, it was stated that regarding the policy on Iraq Cheney had secret meetings with oil companies and had strategic areas marked on maps and blueprints. It is mind boggling how deep this all goes and actually how far back it goes, and that these ctiminals still hold sway in policy. And now veterans are being shot with rubber bullets and teargassed in our streets.This too is the clear indication that "our freedoms" have nothing to do with these excursions of empire. And with peak oil and peak water present threats, this is not done...unless we end it.

I hope we can also start a dialogue about identifying the changes that have already been made under the "new century" plans and their blueprints like ALEC, etc, and begin to determinet what is needed to start to go back to fairness and what changes we need to plan on making after 2012 to "seal the greed in a never to be reopened pyramid tomb!" A monument to greed? Or a reminder of what we must never allow to happen again!

Great post. Makes complete sense. This is why nothing changes. This PNAC is still being implemented. That's why the wars keep going and new ones started, Green Energy is nothing but talk and no action, the gutting of social programs, etc. I agree--things would be much different if Al Gore would've been president--I have sat and wondered many times how different this Century/Country would've been.

This is an interesting premise that you've put forth regarding Al Gore and the 2000 elections JanforGore.
There's no doubt that the current geo-political climate is shaped by corporate agendas like "Rebuilding America's Defenses," Netanyahu's "A Clean Break" and others evil corporate agendas, but I highly doubt that if Al Gore had been president that he wouldn't have been on board with the plan to terrorize the Middle East.
He did back the Bush Administration's plans to invade Iraq and Afghanistan.
http://www.wsws.org/articles/2002/feb2002/gore-f20.shtml
You've got to remember who was the vice president of the United States at the time when Clinton ordered the bombing of Iraq in 1998, and the bombing of Serbia under the pretext of a fake humanitarian crisis and to spread democracy, not unlike Libya today.
What was Al Gore''s political stance on the bombing? Did he oppose the 1998 bombing and sanctions of Iraq like Clinton allegedly did? I wasn't following politics back then so I don't even know if he said anything about it or not.
I don't hate on Al Gore because I don't buy into the whole global warming thing, I just don't see him as any different than a Bush, a Clinton or an Obama. They are all pathological liars and psychopaths in my book. Al Gore sure seemed like a better option than Bush at the time, but who can say what America and the world would have been if Gore had been elected?

"Now, far more damaging is the administration's attack on fundamental constitutional rights that we ought to have and do have as American citizens. The very idea that an American citizen can be imprisoned without recourse to judicial process or remedy, and that this can be done on the sole say-so of the president of the United States or those acting in his name, is beyond the pale and un-American. And it ought to be stopped.
Now, regarding other countries, the administration's disdain for the views of others is well documented, and need not be reviewed here. It is more important to note the consequences of an emerging national strategy that not only celebrates American strength, but actually appears to glorify the notion of dominance. The word itself has been used in the counsels of the administration.
If what America represents to the world is leadership in a commonwealth of equals, then our friends are legions. If what we represent to the world is an empire, then it is our enemies who will be legion. At this fateful juncture in our history, it is vital that we see clearly who are our enemies, and that we intend to deal with them. It is also important, however, that in the process we preserve not only ourselves as individuals, but our nature as a people dedicated to the rule of law."

I say this country would have been in an infinitely better place because of the man he is, not because he's a Democrat. And in response regarding parties, as I also stated I have lost faith in both party apparatus', however as we have seen there are still those who as Americans and human beings show that they do care. Dennis Kucinich and Bernie Sanders are just a couple, as is Mr. Gore. - 7 months ago

"if this system wasn't rotten to its core"... That's my take on it, that's why you'll find politicians from any side being thrown up under buses when I submit or comment. I don't know about the media, but I've certainly given Mr. Gore a hard time and haven't received a penny for it. Between videos like "Testify" by one of my favorites bands of the 90's RATM, which shows Gore & Bush giving identical quotes on the campaign trial... It's awfully hard not to see, not only those two, but democrats and republicans in general as two sides of the same coin...
I had allot of hope for the Gore administration, was supportive of him over Bush, if for nothing else because he is a more intelligent person. I was even supportive of Obama the first time around. Still when you have what amounts to Gore throwing in the towel in the 2000 election battle... Between Obama breaking so many important campaign promises... I won't ever consider myself (more of) a democrat again, noting that republicans (generally speaking) are no better on any level (still Ron Paul has an appeal above most democrats currently)...
It's like asking me if I want kicked in the balls or slapped in the face (when asking about who I support politically).... Neither
It's a question of values to me, what do I think is right for not only the present but the future....
These; wars, war on terror, (US governmentally orchestrated) regime changes, the military industrial complex, prohibition, prison industrial complex, and several other issues are not only bankrupting the country they're making the world less safe for my children and grandchildren... And once again Obama seems to be catering to big oil, on a few fronts....
Don't really care about the PNAC, or the NWO ideology coming from both sides, any other stupid greed driven initiatives... What I care about is not being hated the world over, a safe healthy future for my kids, and a government can have the courtesy to leave me the fuck alone, especially when they aren't doing anything but coddling big business anyway (Oh they are planning enslaving my children, almost forgot)....
I'm fortunate enough to have seen things going downhill years ago and prepared the best I could, I don't need these corporations (yes they do control politics), their influence, their products.... Honestly give two-shits about the economy, I'll go directly to small scale farming if I have to and will at least live. Actually I'll thrive around like minded individuals that aren't worried about the newest gadget their technological guru put out, in their attempt to employ China....
Really, fuck the system.... If more people would choose to pull themselves from it, simply quit participating as much as possible it would fall apart...

The dark underbelly of American politics is the "think-tanks", policy wonks and the outrageous ideas they put forth in their policy papers.
Amazingly, their is "group-think" amongst the think tanks. They all put forth the same idea: American empire at all cost, even if it is to the detriment of most of the American citizens.
Why is this? It has to do with how they are financed. Cash strapped think tanks need donations from the elites.
He who pays the piper calls the tune. The think-tank universal call for an American Empire is only a reflection of the will of the elites that finance the organizations.
It's Scary how little the MSM pays attention to the wacky and destructive shit put out by these think-tanks.
Scarier still is how often politicians and policy implementers DO.
Why again? Some of the same elites that contribute to the think-tanks donate to the politicians. This causes a legislator to accept a pre- written bill or pre-written provisions for a bill from the think tank, or the Secretary of state to adopt a think-tank's policy in full.
When questioned about the rationale of the policy, politicians cite to think-tank provided facts and official reasoning. The complicit media then hold up the citation to the think tank as something credible, and stop any further inquiry into the matter. Never going into the stated or unstated aims of the think-tank and the politician. Never actually looking at the language in the policy document or proposed bill. The cycle continues.
As David below mentions, one of the worst think- tank is the Council On Foreign Relations. The trilateral commission could also be thrown in there. As well as the pro-neocon, Brookings institution.
If you want to read something particularly offensive.
Read the Brookings institution's "Neocon Lessons for Democrats"

So why respond again on it? The facts of the s-election of 2000 which was stated as a reference point are what they are regardless of what you think of the players. The neocons needed their stooge in place to make it happen and it cost our entire country and this world dearly. Does that mean he is perfect? No, and I never said he was, but he certainly has not supported this agenda. That is the focus that brings us to explaining what we still see happening today globally, particularly regarding oil and now water and our inept response to climate change.
And on edit: I do think you have some very good points of view on this topic as discussed in a prior thread about Libya. This is a matter of getting to the bottom of a very murky truth and about the power certain people can exert to actually subvert the democratic process to get a perpetual war and get away with it. That is the true crime here.

No, I believe your deliberate attempt to hijack this thread out of the box because I dared mention his name in context to what I believe precipitated this PNAC agenda was already aiming to start a fight regardless of what you stated as you were hoping others would jump on it. You hate the man, I get it. He's "a turd" as you stated not so long ago here. However, the focus of this video is what the neocon agenda has been (in which I believe he and all of us in the U.S. were used to facilitate it) and how it has been carried out and supported by the real owners of policy: the oil companies and the fossil fuel lobby backed by international banks and organizations that still control this government. If you have evidence to support that he had a hand in crafting this PNAC plan then bring that out. However, if all you intend to do is fill this thread with debunked regurgitated talking points about carbon trading then your motive is clear. And I am not fighting nor picking a fight, I am discussing, so you can dispense with that tactic as well. Did you even watch the video?
