Protests at climate change summit at Durban

Thousands of demonstrators have marched through the South African city of Durban demanding faster action on climate change.

The annual UN climate summit is being held at the city's convention centre.

Protesters were particularly angered by the stance of rich countries such as the US and Canada.

In London. former UK Deputy Prime Minister Lord Prescott said the approach of these nations was "appalling".

Halfway through this summit, some progress has been made, but a few countries including the US, Canada and Saudi Arabia are holding out on important issues such as the future of the Kyoto Protocol.

Fourteen years ago, Lord Prescott played a leading role in the UN summit in Kyoto that brought the protocol into existence.

Speaking to the BBC, he was scathing about nations trying to delay progress now.

"Let's have a reassessment of it by 2015." he said. "But if you don't finish in time for the ending of Kyoto Two, which is next year, 2012, then, you know, it will actually wither on the vine and that's what Canada and America wants - and one or two other rich countries.

"It's a conspiracy against the poor. It's appalling. I'm ashamed of such countries not recognising their responsibilities."

The European Union wants talks on a new global agreement covering all nations to start as soon as possible.

It is backed by most of the world's poorest countries and small island states vulnerable to rising sea levels.

But even if resistance from the US and others can be overcome, it is hard to envisage anything being agreed that can start to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions before 2020.

And that is the timeframe science suggests is necessary if the most dangerous climate impacts are to be avoided.

    • Self-absorbtion and wishful thinking prevail in America.
We expect someone else to fix this crisis, be it government or Jesus, because we have become too lazy to take action ourselves.

You want action? Well, if United States citizens hadn't been poisoned like prisoners in a Nazi concentration camp, the men fed foods with estrogen-mimicking additives, perhaps you would have a populace that would spring into action.

And maybe if they hadn't been running nonstop WARS depleting the male gene pool except WAIT, HMM, could it be that was their plan all along? Obese people don't take action. Obese people have foot problems, fallen arches, flat feet from poor nutrition.

Where do you think food supplements come from anyway Brain. Food supplements are taken out of store shelf food during processing.

Where the h*ll do you get an army of Spartan warriors from nutrient-depleted food? Most of the time you're right smart but boy when you're DUMB, YOU'RE REALLY DUMB.

Your demons are shaming you. Start thinking for yoself.

It is more than just about Jesus!!! You are exactly correct. It's about rulership of this planet. We're a fail. Jesus spoke of a KINGDOM, and a kingdom is a form of GOVERNMENT. We can't rule our own selves but from heaven it will be done.

Several Bible books speak of governments, how they act, calling them all beasts. That's why they rip people to pieces. It's what they are.

The miracles Jesus performed when on earth was to give us a foregleam of what power he will have to exercise when he kicks the bums in the gutter where they belong.

THEN WE WILL HAVE A REAL PLANET. SOMETHING OUR DRUNKEN IDIOT LEADERS DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO.

      AND NEVER WILL.

Jan, the governments have sources of Energy that gives them the Power they need to fix things. They refuse to use it. Instead they have chosen to keep people in ignorance of it.

WORLD LEADERS KNOW ABOUT COSMIC ENERGY. They're running a scam. Have you so quickly forgotten all those many plane trips Obama made after he was inaugurated? He was traveling all over the world CEMENTING THE OTHER LEADERS INTO HIS GAME PLAN.

What you see now could have been fixed decades ago. What you see in your reality today is a reality that never had to happen. They made it happen, on purpose.

They want a Religion-Free World and the way they determined they could accomplish that was to prove Jesus wrong, dead, a no-show. They're driving stakes in everybody's heart to do that. Including yours. Whoever has to die will die by their own leader's hands until they succeed, or the planet is destroyed.

Jesus changed water to whatever density and surface tension he wanted. He firmed up the water to walk on it, he changed the water to chase fish into nets. Jesus will fix the Arctic ice to whatever he wants it to be FOR OUR GOOD. His kingdom is already in power, has been for decades.

He is awaiting the okay from his Father. Jesus is not the Father. Jesus said he was the son, and at the end of the Bible he inspired John to write he was still the son. A son is always a son. Jesus and the angels are of a higher dimension than ours. They can travel in and out at will. Stopping a human heart from beating is very easy for them.

Most people think Armageddon is to be a long drawn-out affair. I do not. One angel alone killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in one night. When the word is given from the Father the armies of this world are going to be stopped fast. It looks to us on earth as if nothing's happening but soon we'll see a lot happening, and then it will be to late to switch horses.

Decide now or forever hold your peace in a grave. Them's your choices.

Yep. Exactly! Good comment STC. And it won't be any "spirit of Jesus" dropping the hammer it will be solid Jesus re-forging this world, like a blacksmith of old.

Any he doesn't protect will be mashed in the forge. It behooves us to reconsider the strength of our position. Do we think we know or do we really know? Jesus gave us a big clue found at John 4 verses 23 & 24. He said those who belong to him will "worship what they know".

    • it is hopeful to see large groups of people waking and coming together against the few that continue to try to blind and control us...once you start looking you can see their tendrils wrapped around everything

    • Everything is a "conspiracy" against the poor,.............except that nothing is.

The poor are simply blatantly trodden on trampled down and paved over,.....not unlike some eco-systems I can think of. +^d

    • It is obvious that these countries want us to reach the tipping point. They don't care, especially the U.S. and Canada because TARSANDS means big $$$$$$ and that is more important than saving lives. And of course, the more the Arctic melts the faster they can suck all its oil and minerals out as well until there is nothing left. It is going to take a Global Revolution to wrest control of our world from the hands of these vipers. Simple as that.
