All protest can now be aggressively destroyed by paramilitary "police" forces nationwide. Nonviolent passive resistance, including boycotts, strikes, and corporate shutdowns will force them to come into our homes to drag us to jail. Until that time, we must be nonviolent and persistent.

    • Like i have said for years, it is just a matter of time before they come to arrest us in our homes for nothing more than not supporting the armed militia that in control of our government. Someone has taken over control and congress is working hard to remove the rights of citizens to be free and to speak free. I will never willing be detained by this scum. I am a free American, I will stay free no matter the cost.

Rule: to control or direct; exercise dominating power, authority, or influence over; govern.

Paramilitary: noting or pertaining to an organization operating as, in place of, or as a supplement to a regular military force.

Nationwide, police forces have armed themselves to fight a well-equipped "enemy" which has been vaguely described as being "terrorist." This faceless "enemy" does not exist and has been created out of whole cloth by a ruling class which seeks to rule through fear and, now, superior military force. The headline is concise, descriptive, and accurate.

    • take a tip from the past:
organize the military, those soldiers facing foreclosure or their 2nd tour of duty need a few nudges to consider their own actions. I'm sure others are mostly in it for the money, patriotism well that's just a clever cover.

Our GOP leadership has forgoten that they work for the people, not the 1%. WE DON'T WANT TO BE CORPERATe RUN OR RUN BY PRIVLIGED PEOPLE. i FOR ONE WILL REVOLT AGAINST A KING.

    • There will be a civil war in the military too. The programmed professional militia versus the average soldier. It'll be an interesting confrontation. Of course, they will be careful to send their "select" forces out first.

    • Nonviolent, yes. But if things turn sour, there's no way to fight a Nazi State. It's best to get out of dollars and know where the exits are. Sad to say, we're not in America anymore, Toto.

cops are retarted though. Our generation is so much further ahead of the ones running shit, look at Bradley Manning's case for instance. We're as secure as our employees we try to control to do our dirty work, at some point they break and realize they're still being fucked over and controlled... Brad had personal gender issues, nothing wrong with that, but it lead to the U.S.'s truth being told, and it's beginning to change the world for the better.

      FREE BRAD.

I've always though of cops as those kids who were the school bullies when they were young, what do they become when they grow up? Maybe power shouldn't be given to those who want it? It kinda seems alittle insane to give power over people to those who so want it...

    • I have been spending a lot of time talking to many poeple, right, left, and libertarians. We all fear the same and this is it.

Msg to protesters: keep it peacful. That is the only way to change things. That and vote. The only option we have is Ron Paul. He wouldn't condone spending money on this. Might be our only hope.

    • I wonder if the military will re-open the Superdome and Astrodome detention centers if the locals decide to get all uppity and re-assert their rights.

    • The term "SECURITY" has become the excuse used to negate all of our rights as citizens. It is nothing more than a ( pardon the pun ) a cop out. There is no reason for this kind of force to be used by civilian police.

Actually, the statement is only attributed to Jefferson, there is some doubt as to whether or not he said it, although Gerald Ford did...I actually remember hearing Ford say it in a televised debate. I wasn't very old at the time, but for some odd reason, it made sense to me then, and still does.

The quotation is sometimes followed by, "The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases," which is perhaps a misquotation of Jefferson's, "The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield, and government to gain ground."

either way you read it...seems a bit depressing.

found it on Monticello's pages...reportedly the Jeffersonian scholars....

More like the hegelian dialectic. Where they create the need for the security, wait for our reaction, and then pop up with the solution more security. By the way Security means giving up more of our freedoms and rights. Which really makes us all less secure.

This isn't about right wing, left wing, or any of that BS you heard on the news this morning. It's about we the people. Stop spewing all that bullshit. When the SHTF the left wing isn't going to come save you and neither is the right. Did either wing give you a heads up about fluoride in the water?

So just what are you, one of those lunatic "survivalists", had the extreme bad-luck to know one of those lunatics recently never saw such extreme right-wing (yes that's right) views in my life. Totally clinically insane, preaching the commie-socialist-nany-state-UN is about to take over the world! Yah right, the UN that can't agree what day it is is going to march it's massive armies on-the-world. Gotta-git-ma-gun! Such lunatic freaks.

Well actually you can't blame people for being so gullible. Most Americans were started out being lied from the time they were kids. Let's not forget Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Boogey Man, the list goes on and on.

The basis of all human societies modern or ancient are lies, what's your point? You see 1 based on truth somewhere!? Please point it out! They're all based on beliefs not facts, about the world as-it-is. All men created equal? Seriously? Created huh? I worked in a MH/MR facility at 1 time and can tell you without doubt all weren't created equal, some got a very seriously raw deal by their creator if 1 was involved. An actual society based on facts would be something wondrous to see.
