the free exchange of ideas? we can't have that. That might lead to people thinking for themselves, and then, revolution!

Lets face it...the internet is evil and it must be stopped...we can't have people freely exchanging ideas and information or knowledge that could help them to set themselves free from our tyranny.

The idea of copyrighting truthful information, knowledge, is a totally stupid idea. This is an even worse monster than SOPA or PIPA

I really want to like Obama, but things like this make it very, very difficult.
Evidently the negotiations on this treaty took place behind closed door. Obama called the secrecy "A matter of national security". This looks a lot like an end run around to get laws on the books without congress or public scrutiny.
A bit hard to swallow for me when talking about a President who ran on a platform of greater transparency.
Also, I didn't hear it in the video, so if I am repeating, sorry; but the US signed this treaty along with several other countries, in Japan, Oct. 1 2011.
Point is, it appears SOPA is more along the lines of the bill we introduced to make ourselves compliant with the treaty we ALREADY signed.
Every time I see one of these videos these days, I think to myself, "that can't be accurate", do my own research and find out that it is, in fact, even worse.
I too, simply don't want to live in this world anymore.

KB723:
The problem is that we don't pay our elected officials nearly as much as special interest does. The most Ironic part of the whole thing is that Hollywood became so powerful without copyright protection, they were able to retell stories from other people without worrying about IP protections. Typically privatize gains and socialize losses.
