Designed to carry 400 pounds of equipment, travel up to 20 miles at a time, and move at speeds as fast as 10 mph, the LS3 is meant to fit into a Marine or Army unit in a “natural way,” the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency said in a news release.

no, mules can disobey, and this is basically an autonomous tank that can climb stairs and crawl right into bed with a target

For when you just absolutely need the enemy to know you are coming...you know... a heads up...so they might hurry that ambush in place.

Because heaven forbid they actually use a mule... that wouldn't be very intimidating.
1 mule = $500 + food, shelter, and water
1 mule robot = $50,000,000 to develope and $500,000 to produce a single one + fuel and maintenaince.Don't get me wrong, I love technology too, but is this really worth our time and money when nature already made the exact same thing that won't walk off a cliff? Technological progress is important, but why pay for it this way?

If all the Osama's in the world would retire - if all the expansionist governments would try to make what they have better, rather than trying to take what isn't theirs - then we could make do with a National Guard. The caprice of our political leaders is another subject. We owe our freedom to the men and women who put on an American uniform. As long as we have a need of these patriots then I want them equipped with the very best and newest tools.

Anything that helps our soldiers is welcome. I wish there was no need for such things but my boys lives are more important money.

This is freaky indeed. But this is what the US has money for. Never mind that many of our vets who lost a arm or hand still use the hook that goes all the way back to WWII. But finding new ways to kill takes higher priority than taking care of disabled vets.

You make an excellent point. It did cross my mind that there's where the money is going. And I agree Leen it is freaky. I'm sure they'll find some way to weaponize it.

Disgusting indeed. There is so much that money could be used for.....our disabled vets, infrastructure, green energy, etc. But no, it must be used for the MIC.

Robots building robots, coming to a shop near you. If you're already doing it, you may have a few years left, but I wouldn't waste college on it at this point. Programming only has 10 years left tops.
