French court finds Monsanto guilty of chemical poisoning

The farmer, Paul Francois, said he suffered neurological problems including memory loss, headaches and stammering after inhaling Monsanto’s Lasso weedkiller in 2004.
He said the company was at fault for not providing adequate warnings on the product label.
The court in Lyon ordered an expert opinion of Francois’ losses to establish the amount of damages to be awarded.
Monsanto said it is considering appealing against the judgement. It claimed the link between the farmer’s symptoms and potential poisoning was never established.

I am not sure what the French statutes are one this sort of criminal act, but we are talking one of the biggest companies in the world, this is probably gonna get drawn out for MANY more months in appeals and deal attempts...

To be totally honest, I don't think so. Monsanto will more than likely drag this out as long as possible or try to settle out of court. Of course, this is France so you never know. But this is definitely good news.

The Permanent Peoples Tribunal already found the big 6 guilty at a trial in Bangalore, India last December as victims spoke out. I hope this sparks global justice.

Monsanto has already been found guilty of false advertising in France regarding RoundUp. There is also a case pending here in the U.S. in regards to transgenic contamination of organic crops that is scheduled to be decided by March 31. I'm hoping for justice in THIS country for a change.
